BASIC CONTROLLER FEATURES
Different additional functions have been added to the exclusive remote control of the new
generation and innovative UFESA heating pad range.
The user can select between two different working modes:
1. Free mode: The regulator operates at the desired temperature setting. The user can set
between 1-2-3-4 different temperature level (E).
If the user does not set up any operation time (F), the heating pad will work until a maximum
of 90 minutes. After that time, the controller will automatically set default temperature
level 1.
2. Automatic stop mode: The regulator activates the heating pad operation with the
temperature (E) and operation time (F) selected by the user. The user can set between 1-2-
3-4 different temperature levels (E) and operation time is 45-60-90 minutes (F). Once the
selected operation time is elapsed, the controller will automatically turn off the heating
pad.
AUTOMATIC SAFETY AUTOSTOP
In order to prevent the user from being exposed to any risks arising from inadvertently
leaving the heating pad switch on for an extended period of time, an automatic safety
autostop is included in all regulator models as a series feature. The autostop is
automatically activated after 8 hours of continuous working without any key press on the
controller. Once the safety autostop is activated, the heating pad remains disconnected
from the power and the safety autostop activation indicator remains light up (D).
All you need to exit the autostop mode is to press any button on the control keypad. At this
moment, the regulator will return to default mode established (free mode, temperature
level 1).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Connect the heating pad to the appropriate mains.
2. Turn on the product by sliding the on/off switch (A), setting it to the "I" position. The
electronic control will immediately start a quick check to detect any possible problems
indicated through a LED scan. After that, the product is set in the default working mode:
minimum temperature level 1 light up and free mode (no operation time selected).
3. Set the desired temperature level from the available 4 levels (E) by repeatedly pressing
the temperature level selection key (B). From that moment, the heating pad operates
normally in free mode. In that mode, only temperature level indicator (E) remains light up
on the control screen, any other lights will remain turned off. As a security measure, the
heating pad will automatically reduce its temperature after 90 minutes of continuous use.
After that time, the controller will automatically set default temperature level 1.
Please notice that high temperatures are not required to achieve heat benefit effects
and an excessive continued heat applied directly to the skin may lead to burns. The
highest regulator temperature settings must only be used for the time required to
achieve a comfortable temperature. After that it is recommended to gradually reduce the
temperature to a lower setting.
20
As it is mentioned, if you notice that the temperature is reducing after some period of
time use, this is completely normal and it is not indicative of any fault rather than the
automatic high temperature time control system has been activated, in order to prevent
any excessive application heat to the skin.
Always allow the heating pad to cool down prior to storage and never store with other
objects placed on top of the pad.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Possible operational problems
PROBLEM
The control screen does not light up when the
on/off side switch is activated.
The heating pad does not heat up.
After turning it on, the control screen is not set
up in "Free mode", temperature level 1 and the
heating pad does not heat up.
After turning it on, the control screen is set up in
"Free mode", temperature level 1 and the heating
pad does not heat up.
The heating pad only heats up a little
The control screen displays incomprehensible
information. The LEDs flash continuously.
The heating pad reaches temperatures between 70ºC and 80ºC at its maximum setting.
This is for guidelines purposes only. The readings take place in laboratory conditions,
according to procedure described in standard UNE-EN 60335-2-17.
RECOMMENDATION
Check that there is voltage in the outlet used,
and that the heating pad is correctly plugged
into it. Ensure that the on/off side switch is in
the "I" setting.
The pre-selected time stop or the safety
autostop may have been activated. Check the
heating pad is operational, checking that any
one of the LEDs are on.
If any doubt, press any keys to return to "Free
mode" or turn the on/off side switch button.
The control may have an abnormality during
start-up leading to the locking of the pad's
operation for safety reasons.
Turn the control off and on again. If the problem
continues, contact an authorized technical
support service centre.
If the heating pad does not heat up, cover it
with a blanket, towel or thick cloth, place the
regulator in the maximum setting and wait for
45 minutes.
If it still does not heat up, contact our authorized
technical service. Check made on the heating
pad outdoors are not reliable as this may lead to
erroneous heat readings.
If the heat felt is considered insufficient at
its maximum setting, we recommend placing
the heating pad directly in contact your skin,
covering the opposite side of the heating pad
with a towel or similar garment, thus preventing
the heat from dissipating into the air.
The control may have an abnormality, leading
to the locking of the heating pad's operation for
safety reasons. Turn the control off and on again.
If the problem continues, contact an authorized
technical support service centre.
