52. For vehicles with battery at the front the following wires must be inserted into the respective
fuse chambers:
Red/black wire into chamber 44.

Red/blue wire into chamber 45.

53. If fuse positions 44 + 45 on the vehicle have not been pre-equipped with terminal 30 , the
cable adapter supplied must be used. Insert cable ends as follows:
Red/black wire in the free socket of fuse 44

Red/blue wire in the free socket of fuse 45
-
Plug the contact with double lug on the connecting lugs of the bridge fuse 22-27.
54. Close the purple catch on the fuse box.
55. Insert 15 A fuses provided into fuse positions 44 and 45.

Check operation

56. Re-connect ground of vehicle battery.
57. Match the existing vehicle code with the selected diagnostics for park distance control unit/
park guidance assistant, on-board electrical system control unit and diagnostic gateway, by
coding "Verbau Anhängerkupplung Pr.-Nr. 1D2" (installation of towing hitch Pr. no.ID2).
58. Check the operation of the trailer using suitable test equipment (with load resistances) or with
a trailer.
59. Check the entries in the error log and if necessary delete.
60. Using the Software Versions Management (SVM) system of the selected diagnostics run an on-
line document retrieval for the vehicle with the action number 050200 .
61. Secure all cables with cable ties.
62. Re-fit all disassembled parts.
