Operation and Safety Guide
Karcher Presto 3 / Spotter Extractor
Model # Presto 3
Tool Application:
The Presto 3 spotter/extractor is used for small area rugs or
spot removal on carpeted areas – Homes, offices, and other carpeted locations.
Not recommended for a large area.
Spot Extraction Tips:
- Pretreat area to be cleaned, spray water and cleaning solution on the affected
area, using the hand tool applicator.
- Make sweeping motions with the Hand tool, slowly moving it back and forth at
an angle to extract water and detergent.
- Try not to over saturate the area you are cleaning, as this will extend the dry
time once you are finished cleaning the carpet.
Tool Operation:
Step
Check the appliance to verify the Cord & Hoses are in good condition
1
before using the machine.
Loosen the latch at back end of the machine that secures the recovery tank
to the solution tank.
2
Remove the recovery tank from the solution tank.
Pour clean, hot water to the indicated fill line of the solution tank. To avoid
3
possible tank distortion, water temperature must not exceed 140 F (60C).
Add a non-foaming cleaning solution concentrate, for use in hot water
extractors at the proportions noted on the container into solution tank. (see
4
chemical chart below)
5
Place the recovery tank back onto the solution tank and refasten the latch.
6
Plug the power cord into grounded outlet.
7
Connect the vacuum and cleaning tool hoses to the extractor.
Turn switch ON. This switch operates both the vacuum motor and the water
pump.
8
NOTE: The pump is an oscillating pump and should not be run dry for
extended periods of time. This may cause damage to your pump,
therefore voiding your warranty.
Squeeze the solution lever on the cleaning tool to spray cleaning solution and
place the vacuum head on the surface to be cleaned. Normally the chemical
9
is applied on the push stroke while vacuuming is done on the pull stroke. For
heavily soiled spots use hand tool in a scrubbing manner. Finish up area with
a vacuum pull stroke.
When cleaning, be sure to monitor the level of recovered solution in the
10
recovery tank. When the solution reaches the FULL mark, shut off the
extractor, loosen the latches and empty the recovery tank.
NOTE: Dispose of waste in a proper manner which
11
would not violate any Local, State or Federal law.
