9. OPERATION
The EPS-120-5192 and EPS-200-5193 chargers have automatic operation and do not require any user
intervention for performing usual tasks.
Operational commands (such as forcing battery test, forcing quick charge, etc.) are given through the web
interface (as specified in the communications manual).
On the front of the chargers, there is only one button that is accessible (BT1), marked "Battery Reconnection".
Figure 22. Position of the BT1 button on the EPS-120-5192 and EPS-200-5193 chargers
This button allows the charger to perform the following functions:
-
When the charger is completely shut down (without AC input but with the batteries connected), if
the button is pressed for 5 seconds, the device starts using battery power, if the batteries have a
voltage within the admissible range (a charger value for which parameters can be set).
-
When the device is running, at constant voltage (quick charge), floating, with the battery charged
or with no battery, if the button is pressed for 5 seconds, it disconnects the batteries and then
reconnects them to check that they are connected. The device will indicate that the button has
been pressed for 5 seconds when all the LEDs light up and remain steady. If, after performing this
check, it detects that the battery is present, the charging process continues and the battery test
failure alarm (if active) is cleared. If the battery is not detected, the urgent alarm for battery not
connected is activated.
-
If it is pressed for more than 60 seconds, the device is reset to factory settings.
-
Allows access to local IP. The charger can be accessed locally and remotely via the ETH port.
Usually, this port is configured to the following IPs by default:
o
REMOTE IP:
o
LOCAL IP:
The REMOTE IP will be modified according to the installation location.
LOCAL IP mode is accessed by pressing and holding BT1 for 10s (with the charger running). The
device will indicate that it has entered LOCAL IP when all the LEDs are blinking.
From local IP mode, it is possible to switch back to REMOTE IP mode in two ways:
o
Press the button again for 10 seconds.
o
By time. The charger automatically switches to REMOTE IP after 20 minutes in LOCAL IP
mode.
