11. MAINTENANCE: BATTERY REPLACEMENT:
11.1
CHARGER
The Device does not require any specific preventive maintenance. For proper operation, it is important that
the air flow is not restricted. If the build-up of dirt or lint is observed in the ventilation slots, it is advisable to
clean it.
Replacement material: In the event of a fuse blowing, it is not recommended to replace the fuses, as this can
only be caused by serious internal faults in the chargers.
In the event of replacement, only the same type of fuse as those supplied with the device must be used:
AC Fuse:
5x20 slow crystal 5A
11.2
BATTERIES
The EPS-120-5192 and EPS-200-5193 chargers allow hot swapping of batteries without disconnecting the
device.
•
Battery replacement may be required as a result of:
-
Battery test failure.
-
Preventive maintenance or replacement campaigns
Other reasons (damage, breakage, etc.).
-
•
The procedure for battery replacement is as follows:
1. Disconnect the batteries that are to be replaced and remove them from their location.
2. Insert the new batteries and connect them up.
3. Check that the battery voltage is between 42V and 52V. It is not recommended to install batteries
with a voltage of less than 40V.
4. Check the polarity of the battery voltage.
5. Connect batteries to the charger.
6. Force a battery reconnection. This can be done by:
a. Pressing the "Battery Reconnection" button for 5 seconds.
b. Accessing the website and clicking on force battery reconnection.
7. The charger detects the presence of the battery:
a. With the battery correctly connected, the charger should switch to quick charge mode. If the
charger has had a battery test failure prior to changing the battery, the charger will reset,
causing the Battery Error LED to switch off and the "Urgent Alarm" to switch to open circuit.
Cleaning:
•
The components, their connections and their supports must be kept dry and clean.
Cleaning agents containing solvents and/or harmful substances must not be used to clean components
with plastic containers.
Connections:
•
The tightness of the nuts on the poles of the elements, as well as the tightness of the electrical
connections, should be checked at regular intervals (approximately 12 months)
Verification of voltages:
•
The voltages of the components should be checked in order to detect possible anomalies in them.
•
Electrolyte in the components:
Electrolyte is highly corrosive. In case of contact with the skin, remove contaminated clothing and wash
affected areas of skin with plenty of water. In case of discomfort, see a doctor. In case of contact with
the eyes, they should be rinsed with plenty of water for 10-15 minutes and, if necessary, an
ophthalmologist should be consulted.
