While operating agricultural equipment, you should
consider basic safety precautions to avoid the risk of
fire, electric shock and personal injury.
Always read the safety, operating and maintenance
instructions before you start using your appliance or
agricultural equipment. Keep the instruction manual for
future reference.
It is your responsibility to follow these preventive measures
in order to ensure your own safety. Always operate the
petrol water pump carefully and responsibly, aware of your
responsibility and bearing in mind that the user is liable for
any accidents caused to third parties or their property.
The water pump, including all accessories, may only be
used by individuals who have read the instruction manual
and are familiar with its handling. Before using the water
pump for the first time, must ensure they are instructed
adequately and practically. Users should be instructed by
the seller or any other qualified person on how to operate
the petrol water pump. The instruction manual is
considered an integral part of the machine and must
always be made available alongside the product.
Familiarize yourself with the control devices and use of the
water pump. In particular, the user must know how to
quickly stop the appliance and the combustion engine.
Do not operate the water pump if you are not both
physically and mentally well. Do not operate with it while
you are tired or under the influence of medication, drugs or
alcohol. If you have a health problem, ask your doctor if it
is safe for you to work with the petrol water pump before
doing so.
Never allow the petrol water pump to be operated by
children, individuals with limited physical, sensory or
mental abilities, individuals with lack of experience and
knowledge of the appliance, or others unfamiliar with the
use instructions.
The machine is designed to pump only water that is
not intended for human consumption. Pumping
flammable liquids, such as oil or fuel, can result in fire or
explosion causing serious injury. Pumping salt water,
beverages, acids, chemical solutions, or any liquid that
promotes corrosion can damage the equipment.
The water pump may only be used as stated in this
instruction manual.
Any other use, which may be dangerous and may cause
injury to the user or damage to the water pump, is not
permitted.
For safety reasons, any alteration to the water pump other
than installing accessories specifically authorized by the
manufacturer, is prohibited. The warranty on your water
pump will be voided if you alter it in any way.
You may get information on authorized accessories from
your official VITO dealer.
Petrol is toxic and highly flammable! Keep petrol only
in jerry cans designed and approved for this purpose.
Always screw and tighten tank caps and fuel containers.
Defective caps must be replaced.
Never use bottles or similar to remove or store service
products such as fuel. Someone, particularly children, may
be mistakenly taken to drink them.
Keep petrol away from sparks, flames, heat sources or
other ignition sources. Do not smoke near petrol jerry
cans and appliances with petrol on the tank, or during the
fuelling process.
Refill and empty the fuel tank outdoors only. Before
refuelling, shut of the engine and let it cool down.
Petrol fuelling shall be carried out before running the
combustion engine. While the engine is running, it is not
permitted to open the tank cap or refuel.
Do not fill the fuel tank above the level of the filter, to allow
the fuel to expand and to avoid the ingress of impurities
that can clog the engine injection and combustion systems.
Please also observe the information in the combustion
engine operating instructions.
If petrol overflows, immediately clean any spilled fuel. The
combustion engine should only be started after the dirty
petrol surface has been cleaned. Any attempt at ignition
shall be avoided until the petrol vapours have volatilized
(dry with cloth).
If petrol has come into contact with clothing, it must be
changed.
