1. Install the Shower Arm
Remove and discard the existing shower arm.
Clean residue sealant from the shower ell.
Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant to the back of
the escutcheon according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Slide the escutcheon on the bottom of the shower arm.
Apply thread sealant to the threads on the bottom of the shower
arm, and thread the shower arm into the shower ell.
Securely tighten with a strap wrench until the shower arm is
positioned upright.
Carefully slide the support arm over the top of the shower arm.
Cut excess support arm with a hacksaw as needed to fit. Slip the
flange on the arm of the support.
Turn the support toward the wall, and position the flange and
support at least half way up the length of the shower arm.
Secure the flange to the wall with two screws spaced 1-1/2" (3.8
cm) apart. Securely tighten the flange and support setscrews.
