against the inserted bolt. Advance the screw bolt
until another, or all of the bolt-holes are parallel.
Once the remaining bolts are inserted, the ATM-3
can be removed (see Fig. 20).

Please note that in some situations the operator may
have to 'chase' the misalignment around the joint's
circumference and attach the ATM-3 at several
different positions to rectify the misalignment. On
each occasion the procedures outlined in steps 1 to
3 in paragraph 12.0 should be followed.
14.0 EXAMINATION - MAINTENANCE
• On return from each job and before allocation
against subsequent work, the completeness of
the ATM-3 must be established and items
examined to ensure that they are serviceable.
• Any missing or damaged items are to be replaced
as soon as possible and prior to being used again.
• Grease all moving parts regularly.
• Ensure rollers and pins remain grit free.
• Return all items to the carrying case when not in
use.

Maintaining the Tool
Always ensure the screw bolt is lubricated before use.
This will enhance the tools performance and lifetime.
On the base of the screw bolt within the swivel is
housed a thrust bearing which should be free
running and lubricated regularly.
Use high-quality bearing grease (Molykote) for
lubrication.
Set the Torque Wrench to the lowest setting after
each use and for storage.
Cleaning and lubrication internal parts
STEP 1. Place tool flat on work bench
STEP 2. Remove circlip (A) & (B) then push out
pins. Remove the pull pin.
STEP 3. Using a 4mm allen key, remove the 7 allen
screws around the side plate marked with
serial No.
STEP 4. Using a 4mm allen key, remove release
knob. Lift side plate off allowing access to
the drop leg mechanism and the roller
needle bearing.
STEP 5. The needle roller bearings can now be
cleaned and greased for reassembly
along with the drop leg ratchet mechanism
