General description
Typical application for capacitive sensors
Our capacitive sensors contain a transistor oscillator that oscillates as soon as a certain capacitance is
exceeded by the approach of the medium. The smaller the dielectric constant (Ɛ
has to be approached. Our KAS sensors (capacitive proximity switches / sensors) detect all media (in-
cluding liquids). The effect can also be achieved by detecting through non-metal materials (max. 4 mm),
if the dielectric permittivity of the material to be detected is higher (approx. factor 5). Depending on the
version, the current change of the oscillator is amplified into an analogue output signal or output as a
binary signal via a switching amplifier.
• Output stages with npn or pnp transistors are available for DC operation.
• A transistor output stage or FET-output is integrated for AC connection.
