Preheat  
1. Close   the   fryer   cover   and   plug   it.   Slide   the   temperature   control   to   the   desired   temperature.   The  
recommended   s etting   f or   m ost   f rying   i s   1 90   º C.  
2. Turn  the  timer  knob  to  the  "ON"  place.  When  the  selected  temperature  is  reached,  the  indicator  
light   w ill   g o   o ut.   P reheat   t ime   i s   a pproximately   2 0   m inutes.  
3. While   o il   i s   p reheating,   p repare   t he   f ood   f or   c ooking.

Frying  
1. While   t he   f rying   b asket   i s   s itting   o n   t he   c ountertop,   f ill   t he   b asket   u p   t o   2 /3   f ull   w ith   f ood.  
2. Once   t he   i ndicator   l ight   h as   g one   o ut,   o pen   t he   c over.  
3. CAUTION:   The   unit   has   a   special   cool-­‐touch   exterior,   however,   the   interior   of   the   fryer   is  
extremely   hot   and   should   not   be   touched.   Slowly  tilt  the  cover  back  to  an  upright  position  being  
careful  not  to  touch  hot  surfaces.  Then  place  the  filled  frying  basket  in  the  fixed  pot  so  the  basket  
handle   i s   i n   t he   r im   o pening   a t   t he   f ront   o f   t he   u nit.  
4. With   y our   h and   o n   t he   t op   o f   t he   c ool-­‐touch   c over   p ress   d own   t o   c lose   i t.  
5. Cover   t he   l id   a nd   l et   i t   s traightly   b lock   t o   t he   b asket   s teel   w ire.  
6. Begin   timing.   Refer   to   time   table   of   cooking   time   for   recommended   times.   During   the   first   few  
minutes   it   is   normal   for   the   steam   to   appear   on   the   viewing   window.   This   will   slowly   disappear  
during   c ooking   i f   t he   w indow   i s   k ept   c lean.   C AUTION:   I t   i s   n ormal   f or   t he   s team   t o   e scape   f rom   t he  
cover   v ents   d uring   f rying.   T o   p revent   s team   b urns   k eep   h ands   a nd   f ace   a way   f rom   t he   v ents.  
7. When  frying  time  has  elapsed,  lift  up  on  the  bottom  of  the  basket  handle  until  the  handle  locks  in  
the   h orizontal   p osition;   t his   a ction   w ill   a utomatically   r aise   t he   b asket   t o   t he   d rain   p osition.  
8. Drag   the   cover   and   allow   the   steam   to   vent   and   then   slowly   tilt   the   cover   back   to   an   upright  
position   being   careful   not   to   touch   hot   surfaces.   Check   that   the   food   is   golden   brown.   If   more  
cooking   time   is   needed,   close   the   cover   and   lower   the   basket   into   the   oil   using   the   procedure   in  
step   4 .  
9. Once   t he   f ood   i s   d one,   c arefully   l ift   t he   b asket   o ut   o f   t he   f ryer.   T hen   e mpty   t he   f ood   o n   a bsorbent  
paper.   T he   h andle   l ock   b utton   o n   t he   b asket   h andle   i s   f or   l owering   t he   f rying   b asket   i nto   t he   h ot   o il.  
CAUTION:   D o   n ot   s lide   t his   b utton   w hen   r emoving   t he   b asket   f rom   t he   f ryer.  
 
 
3.   M AINTENANCE   &   C LEANING  
 
Care   a nd   c leaning  
1. Unplug   t he   c ord   f rom   t he   o utlet   a nd   a llow   o il   a nd   f ryer   t o   c ool   c ompletely   w ith   t he   c over   c losed.  
2. After   c ompletely   c old,   p ull   t he   i nner   p ot   o ut   o f   t he   d eep   f ryer.  
3. If   y ou   p lan   t o   r euse   t he   c ooking   o il,   i t   i s   r ecommended   t hat   y ou   s train   t he   o il   t o   r emove   a ny   f ood  
particles.   T hen   s tore   t he   o il   i n   a   t ightly   s ealed   c ontainer   a nd   k eep   w here   i t   w ill   n ot   b e   e xposed   t o  
heat   o r   d irect   l ight.  
4. Always   b e   s ure   t o   c lean   a nd   d ry   t horoughly   t he   b asket   i n   t he   f ryer   c over   t o   p revent   i t   f rom   s ticking  
to   t he   f ryer   b ase.   R eplace   t he   b asket   w hen   i t   b ecomes   h ard,   u nusually   s oft,   d eformed,   c racked,  
worn,   o r   p itted.  
5. Never   i mmerse   t he   c ool-­‐touch   b ase   i n   w ater   o r   o ther   l iquid,   o r   w ash   i n   a   d ishwasher.   W ipe   w ith   a  
damp   c loth   t o   c lean  
6. After   e ach   u se,   w ipe   t he   i nside   o f   t he   f ryer   c over   w ith   a   d amp   c loth.   F or   a   m ore   t horough   c leaning,  
remove   t he   c over   f rom   t he   f ryer   b ase.   W ith   t he   c over   i n   t he   o pen   p osition,   s imply   l ift   i t   u p.   D rag
