06.1 Inserting/Replacing the battery
The CV-04 microphone is equipped with a LR44 1,5V battery.
To replace the battery please screw-o the screw cap (4) – the battery compartment is located underneath. Insert
a fresh LR44 battery according to the polarity markings +/- into the battery compartment and screw-on the screw
cap (4) again.
06.2 Mounting onto camera
Turn the locking screw (7) upward and slide the universal hot shoe (6) into the hot shoe mount of your camera. Turn
the screw (7) down until microphone holds tight on the camera.
Hint
With the ¼" screw mount at the universal hot shoe (6) the microphone can be mounted onto an audio boom
alternatively. For this purpose a longer cable with 3,5 mm jack is recommended (optionally available in spe-
cialized electronic stores).
06.3 Connecting with camera
Make sure the microphone is turned o (3 = OFF).
Insert the 3,5 mm plug with screw contact (9a) in the line-out socket (8) of the microphone and screw tight the plug.
Caution
Before disconnecting the plug from microphone, do not forget to loosen the screw of screw contact (9a).
Insert the plug with plug-in contact (9b) in the microphone socket (AUDIO IN) of your camera.
06.4 Audio recordings
Turn on the microphone (3 = ON). The LED indicator (2) lights up green. The microphone is now ready to record.
Start the video recording at your camera.
06.5 Recording level (camera settings)
At some DSLR and video cameras the recording level can be set via the camera menu. If adjusting the recording
level manually, set the level to 75% (¾) of the loudest sound setting. Please also refer to the instruction manual of
your camera/recorder.
Hint
It is always recommendable to make a test recording. Set the recording level before recording and keep the
setting until the end of recording. Changing the settings while recording will lead to di erences in the sound.
