For optimal dust pick-up performance
- empty dust canister C frequently (lift lid of canister)
- remove dust out of micro-filter D (do not wash
micro-filter with soap and water)
! do not use dust canister when sanding metal
• Mounting/removing of vacuum cleaner adapter E 6
! do not use vacuum cleaner when sanding metal
• On/off switch
- switch on/off the tool by pushing switch F in "I"/"O" position
! before the sanding surface reaches the
workpiece, you should switch on the tool
! before switching off the tool, you should lift it
from the workpiece
• Holding and guiding the tool 7
! while working, always hold the tool at the
grey-coloured grip area(s)
- guide the tool parallel to the working surface
! do not apply too much pressure on the tool;
let the sanding surface do the work for you
- do not tilt the tool in order to avoid unwanted
sanding marks
- keep ventilation slots G 2 uncovered
APPLICATION ADVICE
• Move the tool in straight movements in line with the grain
- for sanding bare wood surfaces
- for extra fine finishing
• Never use the same sanding sheet for wood and metal
• Recommended sanding sheet grits:
coarse - for removing paint;
for sanding of extremely rough wood
medium - for sanding of rough or plain wood
fine
- for smoothing of wood;
for finishing of bare wood;
for smoothing surfaces with old paint
• Use different grit sizes when the working surface is rough:
- start sanding with coarse or medium grit
- finish with fine grit
• Vibration level
The vibration emission level stated at the back of this
instruction manual has been measured in accordance
with a standardised test given in EN 60745; it may be
used to compare one tool with another and as a
preliminary assessment of exposure to vibration when
using the tool for the applications mentioned
- using the tool for different applications, or with
different or poorly maintainted accessories, may
signif cantly increase the exposure level
- the times when the tool is switched off or when it
is running but not actually doing the job, may
significantly reduce the exposure level
! protect yourself against the effects of vibration
by maintaining the tool and its accessories,
keeping your hands warm, and organizing
your work patterns

MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE

• Maintenance and cleaning
- Before any work on the machine itself, pull the main plug.
- For safe and proper working, always keep the
machine and ventilation slots clean.
- In extreme working conditions, conductive dust can
accumulate in the interior of the machine when
working with metal.
- The protective insulation of the machine can be
degraded. The use of a stationary extraction system
is recommended in such cases as well as frequently
blowing out the ventilation slots and installing a
residual current device (RCD).
- If the machine should fail despite the care taken in
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should
be carried out by an after-sales service centre for Skil
power tools.In all correspondence and spare parts
order, please always include the 10-digit article
number given on the type plate of the machine.

Center for Electric Power Tools.
- Warning! Freight and insurance costs are charged to
