BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
CAUTION: To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the 14 Cup Programmable Coffee
Maker or allow power cord to come into contact with water or other liquids.
1. Remove all packing material and labels from the inside and outside of the Coffee Maker. Place the
unit on a flat, clean surface.
2. Before preparing coffee, thoroughly clean the glass carafe, coffee scoop, removable filter holder
and gold tone coffee filter in hot, sudsy water. Rinse and dry. Replace disassembled parts.
3. Clean the inside of the Coffee Maker. Fill carafe with cold tap water and pour into water tank at
the back of the unit. Center empty carafe on the warming plate. Do not add the gold tone coffee
filter or ground coffee for this initial cleaning.
4. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC electrical outlet; "12:00 AM" will appear.
5. Press the BREW/OFF button. It will illuminate white, the pump / heater will begin operation
and water will flow into the carafe.
6. Upon completion of the brew cycle, 3 tones will sound. The BREW/OFF button will remain
illuminated as the Coffee Maker advances to KEEP WARM.
NOTE: At the end of the first clean water cycle, press the BREW/OFF button and allow
15 minutes for the unit to cool.
7. Brew a second carafe of fresh water.
8. Wait an additional 15 minutes to allow the Coffee Maker to cool before brewing your first carafe
of coffee.
PROGRAMMING YOUR COFFEE MAKER
Your Coffee Maker is fully programmable.
• 24 hr. CLOCK enables you to program a future TIME to brew.
• PROGRAM automatically starts your Coffee Maker brewing at a future pre-programmed TIME.
• REG / BOLD adjusts brew strength.
• 1 – 4 assures perfectly brewed results for smaller quantities.
• KEEP WARM cycle is adjustable from 0 to 4 hours.
• CLEAN delivers highest temperatures and longer cleaning times.
24 HOUR CLOCK
1. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC electrical outlet; "12:00 AM" will appear.
2. To set the current time, turn the SELECT dial until CLOCK appears in the left top corner
of the display.
3. The default "12" or previously set HOURS will begin to flash. Rotate the SELECT dial until
the current HOUR is displayed. (NOTE: Pay attention to AM and PM.)
4. In 5 seconds, the MINUTES will begin to flash. Rotate the SELECT dial until the current MINUTES
are displayed.
5. In 5 seconds, if no buttons are pressed, the current TIME set will be displayed.
