Irregular Heartbeat (IHB) Indicator
Irregular Heartbeat Symbol (
The appliance can detect irregular heartbeats.
When the appliance detects an irregular rhythm twice or more
times during the measurement, the irregular heartbeat Symbol
will appear on the display with the measurement values.
An irregular heartbeat rhythm is defined as a rhythm that varies
by more than 25% from the average rhythm detected during the
measurement.
If the Irregular Heartbeat Symbol displays often with your
measurement results, we recommend you consult your doctor.
Arrhythmia
Arrhythmia is a condition where the heartbeat rhythm is abnormal
because of defects in the electrical stimulation of the heart.
Typical symptoms are: skipped heartbeats, premature contraction,
too rapid pulse (tachycardia - atrial fibrillation) or too slow pulse
(bradycardia).
A frequent appearance of the irregular heartbeat symbol could
indicate arrhythmia but this can only be determined by your
doctor through a specific test.
Self-diagnosis and self treatment are always dangerous, consult
your doctor.

Before Taking A Measurement
1.
Avoid eating, drinking alcohol or coffee, smoking, exercising
and bathing for at least 30 minutes before taking a
measurement.
2.
Stress raises blood pressure. Avoid taking measurements
during stressful times.
3.
The cuff can be applied to your left or right arm. Always
measure your blood pressure on the same arm. If there was
high differences between the two arms ask you doctor which
arm you should use.
4.
Measurements should be taken in a quiet place.
5.
Position the appliance at heart level throughout the
measurement.
6.
Remain still and do not talk during the measurement.
7.
A single measurement does not provide an accurate
indication of your true blood pressure. You need to take
several readings over a period of time. Usually it is suggested
to take 3 measurements and calculate the average. Please
note the appliance can calculate automatically the average
of last 3 measurements (L3). Please see "Use the memory
function".
8.
Your blood pressure varies during the day. Try to measure
your blood pressure at the same time each day for
consistency (for example within one hour after waking up).
9.
It is normal for two measurements close in time to give even
very different values.
10. Wait 2 or 3 minutes between measurements. The wait time
allows the arteries to return to normal conditions.
11. Measurement taken by your doctor can be different from the
measurements you get at home as the situation is different.
