Steps 11-15: Preparing to Connect the CHMSL
Connection Harness
11. Remove the air fi lter housing cover.
12. Remove the bolt that secures the air fi lter housing to the driver' s
side of the engine compartment. [Fig. 5]
13. Locate the aftermarket CHMSL circuit wire. [Fig.6]
14. Remove the plastic end from the CHMSL circuit wire to expose
the blunt end of the wire. [Fig. 7]
15. Strip 1/8" – 1/4" of insulation from the CHMSL circuit wire.

Steps 16-24: Connecting the CHMSL Filter Harness
16. Secure the ground ring of the CHMSL fi lter harness to the ground
lug located at the front of the engine compartment. [Fig. 9]
17. Crimp the CHMSL connection harness orange wire to the
aftermarket CHMSL circuit wire using the provided shrinkable
butt splice. [Fig. 10]
18. Locate the wire from step 10.
19. Trim the length of both wires in the CHMSL Connection harness
to the required length to connect to the CHMSL fi lter harness.
20. Strip 1/8" – 1/4" of insulation from the CHMSL connection
harness wires.
21. Crimp the CHMSL connection harness red/white wire to the
CHMSL fi lter harness red/white wire using the shrinkable
butt splice.
22. Crimp the CHMSL connection harness black wire to the CHMSL
fi lter harness black wire using the shrinkable butt splice.
23. Use a heat source to shrink the butt splices. (Heat gun
preferred.)
24. Secure all loose wires to the wire bundle using provided zip ties.
25. Replace cover of air fi lter housing and reinstall the bolt from
step 12.
Steps 26-28: Routing the Battery Wire Harness
26. From the rear of the truck, route the battery wire harness from
the driver' s side to the passenger side along the underside of
the bumper. Avoid any areas that get hot, that move, or are
sharp. Use provided zip ties to secure where needed.
27. Route the battery wire harness to the engine compartment
following the main truck wire harness. Secure with zip ties as
you go.
28. Feed the battery wire harness up into the engine compartment
and connect to the positive terminal of the battery. [Fig. 11]
29. Connect 6-pin connector from the Fuse Box Harness from step 3
into the fuse box.
30. Use mini zip tie adhesive mounts and zip ties to secure the Fuse
Box Harness in place.
31. Reinstall driver side taillight.
