Always refer to the instructions provided
with the horizontal lifeline system to deter-
mine if your SRL model can be used with
the system.
The device should be installed and used in
such a manner as to minimize the poten-
tial for a swing fall.
Do not tie knots in lanyards or lifelines,
or wrap around sharp, rough edges, or
small diameter structural members. Do
not attach multiple connecting devices
together, or attach a lanyard/lifeline back
onto itself unless it is specifically designed
for that purpose.
Leading Edge
TurboLite Edge Class 2 Personal Fall
Limiters are approved for overhead and
leading edge applications.
For the purposes of this instruction
manual, a leading edge application is
one whereby the user may be anchored at
foot level/working surface or higher and
the lifeline has the potential to come in
contact with an edge if the user falls.
Arc Flash
TurboLite Flash PFLs provide flame resis-
tance during an arc flash event and hot
work applications. They do not provide
protection against electric shock.
For the purposes of this instruction
manual, an arc flash application is one in
which an electric arc or an electrical explo-
sion can occur resulting in intense heat,
light and/or a blast. A hot work applica-
tion as defined by OSHA 1917.152 (a) is
any application involving cutting, welding,
soldering, grinding or any other similar
activity producing a spark, flame, or heat.

persons

near energized components, parts and
equipment, follow the appropriate safety
requirements and comply with OSHA
1910.333, 1910.335 and ASTM F887.
All authorized users must be aware of
appropriate approach distances and must
avoid contact with energized equipment.

Free Fall
Personal fall arrest systems must be
rigged to limit a free fall to the shortest
possible distance [6 ft (1.8 m) maximum].
3.0 Installation and Use
3.1 Connecting to the Body Support
(Harness) and Anchorage/Anchorage
Connector
For general fall protection, connect the
lifeline/lanyard end connector (i.e., snap
hook or carabiner) to the back D-ring on
the full-body harness.
Connect the body of the retractable unit
to the anchorage or anchorage connector
(see Fig. A). Make sure connections are
compatible in regards to size, strength,
and shape. Make sure that connectors are
completely closed and locked. Make sure
that connectors are positioned so that
their gates are never load bearing.
WARNING
Never attach a rebar (pelican) hook
to a harness D-ring. Can be used in
the inverse configuration (see Fig. B)
Install D-pad clip into harness (see Fig. C),
if applicable.
NOTE: D-pad clip is only compatible with
harness D-pad shown in Fig. C1. D-pad
clip is optional, but recommended for
best performance to minimize slippage
of the harness connector on the harness
webbing. D-pad clip is not necessary for
harnesses with back pads sewn to the
harness webbing (e.g., Miller AirCore or
H700 Harnesses). D-pad clip is also not
needed for D-pads shown in Fig. C2.
Connect harness connector to D-pad clip
or directly to harness if D-clip is not used.
To operate harness connector, engage two
slide buttons and pull captured pin out
with pointer finger (see Fig. C3 & C4).
If D-pad clip is used: Align harness
connector with D-pad clip and insert
captured pin through D-pad clip tunnel (see
C6). Make sure harness connector

pin is completely closed and locked.
If D-pad clip is not used: Pull harness
webbing straps away from D-pad. Then
align the harness connector and insert
the captured pin behind both webbing
straps, but in front of the D-pad (see Fig.
C7 & C8).
