Fold the support legs (5) all the way out
and lift the column (2) to the desired
height.

Insert the safety pin (4) through both
the outer casing (3) and the column
(2), making sure it protrudes from both

sides of the outer casing.

Park the car. Turn off the engine, pull
the hand brake, and put the car into 1.
gear or reverse (using "p" in cars with
automatic gear boxes).
Put wheel chocks around the tires that
are not going to be lifted. Raise the
car with a car jack as described in the

handbook of the car. When the car has
been sufficiently raised, you must place
the jack stand correctly under the car
and carefully lower it. Then you can
remove the car jack. The car may be re-
turned to the ground by raising it with
the car jack, removing the jack stands,
and carefully lowering the car.
