Product usage
NOTE:
•
When using the fryer and for 10 minutes after cooking, we recommend that
you open a window or turn on an extraction fan to keep the room odour-free.
•
Make sure the frying baskets are in the oil draining position and are not
submerged in the oil when it is heating.
To heat the oil, turn the thermostat knob clockwise to the desired temperature. The green
temperature indicator light will turn on to show that heating has started.
NOTE: When turning the thermostat knob up, the clicking sound indicates that
the thermostat is starting to work. Similarly, when turning the temperature knob
down, the click indicates that the thermostat has turned off and the function is
deactivated.
•
It takes approx. 3 to 6 minutes to reach the cooking temperature, depending on the
temperature you have set. The green temperature indicator light will turn off when the
oil has reached the set thermostat level.
CAUTION! Never touch the unit anywhere except for the handles when it is warming
up, in use or cooling. We recommend that you do not touch the thermostat knob
during frying. However, if you need to change the cooking temperature during
frying, wear a protective glove such as an oven glove. You must then remove the
lid and let the steam escape before adjusting the temperature, otherwise you risk
getting burnt by the steam escaping through the edge of the lid.
•
Adjust the heat by turning the thermostat knob clockwise to increase the heat, or anti-
clockwise to lower the heat, as required. During use, the green temperature indicator
light will cycle on and off as the thermostat automatically alternates the heating element
on and off to keep the temperature at the set level.
•
While the oil is heating up, prepare the food. Remove any excess ice crystals from frozen
food and dry any food that is wet.
WARNING!
•
Water and ice may cause hot oil to froth up excessively or spit out of the fryer.
•
If you use food products that are too wet, a large amount of foam may form,
which under certain circumstances may cause the oil to boil over. If you are
cooking frozen foods, use smaller quantities.
Place the frying basket in the oil draining position or remove it from the fryer to put in
the food. Only fill the baskets halfway.
