Product usage
•
For best results as far as French fries and crisps are concerned, rinse the chopped potatoes
in cold water beforehand to remove some of the starch. This prevents them from sticking
when frying. Then dry the potatoes well before cooking them.
•
Do not leave fried food in the basket for too long, as the residual heat from the oil will
steam and therefore, soften them.
•
Cook small batches of food to obtain crispy, evenly cooked food.
•
When you are cooking different types of foods, always fry the food that requires the lowest
temperature setting first.
•
Cooking foods at 170°C or less helps reduce their acrylamide content.
•
We recommend filtering the oil after each frying session, in order to remove all food
residue, as this can accelerate oil breakdown.
Oil conservation
•
If you only use this unit occasionally, empty the fryer of any oil and store it in an airtight
container in the refrigerator.
•
Store oil used for frying fish separately from oil used for frying other foods to prevent
other foods being tainted by the fish flavours in the oil.
•
Do not season foods before or during frying. The oil will no longer be usable in this way.
•
Heating oil at high temperature for long periods of time will shorten the life of the oil.
