During mobile use of the APS punching tools the punch head must be held horizontal after pressing the "START"
button, in order to prevent an inclined indent of the punch in the material.
Depending on the APS with its own weight and if it is not horizontally positioned, this could lead to the
punching tool or the centring tip on the punch breaking.

Maintenance and Repair

Ventilating the punch
Through frequent connection and disconnection of the pipe, air bubbles can be generated in the hydraulic circuit
and the punching time will be extended. To ventilate the punching unit proceed as follows:
1. Unscrew the 8 mm screws (part 36) from the body (see exploded diagram)
2. Turn the underlying drain plug (part 37 with APS 70 / part 21 with APS 120) one rotation.
3. Press the black "START" button.
4. Wait for 2-3 seconds and then press the red "STOP" button.
5. If you repeat this process several times the punch is vented and oil flows out.
6. Then retighten the screws.
The equipment should be ventilated if, for example, a new coupling or a new hose is used or if the
punch is disassembled or assembled for different reasons.
Storage
The equipment should not be stored outdoors or in damp environments for long periods of time. This leads to the
corrosion of individual components and failure of the equipment. Punches and die-plates need oiling and must be
protected from corrosion.
During prolonged storage, operation should be checked at regular intervals (maximum 6 months) to
ensure that the seals remain functional.
Procurement of spare parts
Repairs to the hydraulic punching unit should only be carried out by authorised specialists.
When ordering spare parts, please provide the following:
 Equipment name
 Equipment design
 Equipment number
 Spare part product no.
 Spare part description
 Quantity of the desired parts
