Sawing
Start the jig saw by pressing the on/off
button (1).
The blade (8) will move up and down.
Use the speed selector (14) to adjust the
speed of the jig saw.
You can get the jig saw to run on continuous
operation by pressing the lock button (2)
while the on/off button is pressed in.
Press the on/off button and release it again
to stop the jig saw.
Adjusting the pendulum regulator
The saw blade pendulum has 4 settings
(0, 1, 2, 3) which can be selected using the
pendulum adjustment knob (13).
The pendulum setting adapts the quality
of cut to the material being worked by
changing the movement pattern of the blade
in relation to the workpiece. The higher the
setting, the more aggressive the cut.
•
Use a low pendulum setting or switch the
function off if a very ne cut is required.
At a setting of 0, the blade moves
vertically up and down.
•
Always switch off the pendulum
adjustment when working in metal,
hardwood or thin materials, such as sheet
metal.
•
Use a low setting if working on hard
materials.
•
Use the maximum setting when working
on soft materials and when sawing with
the grain.
About sawing
Never use a blade unsuitable for the task and
item to be cut.
Hold the saw in front of you with a rm grip
on the handle (3).
Ensure that the saw blade is not touching
anything and that the power cable is not in
the way when starting the saw.
Make sure that the workpiece is clamped
tight, and that the saw line is clearly marked.
Start the jig saw. Place the soleplate on the
item, and let the saw blade touch the saw
line.
Saw, but do not place more pressure on
the blade than is necessary. Avoid lateral
pressure on the blade.
To create a notch, drill a hole of an
appropriate diameter and use this as the
starting point for sawing.
Sawing wood
Check that the item does not contain nails or
other metal objects.
Sawing metal
We recommend lubricating the material and
saw blade with cutting oil to protect the tool
and avoid overheating. Support the item
with wooden blocks on either side.
Sawing plastic
Never cut using maximum speed.
Make a test cut rst to check if the material
can tolerate the heat generated by sawing.
Sawing masonry
Harmful dust can be caused by cutting
certain materials. Always wear a mask.
Cleaning and maintenance
Brush the dust away from the jig saw's
ventilation holes using a soft brush. Wipe the
jig saw's plastic parts with a well-wrung cloth
and mild detergent.
