NEW CONSTRUCTION INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE INSTALLATION
WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Ensure the
electricity to the wires you are working on is shut off.
Either remove the fuse or turn off the circuit breaker
before removing the existing bath fan or installing the
new one.
1. If spacing between joists is 12 in. apart, use 4 long wood
screws (AA) to attach the fan housing (A) to the ceiling joist.
If spacing between joists is 16 in. - 24 in., insert suspension
bracket (C) into the bracket cover on the duct connector side of
the fan housing (A). Then, attach suspension bracket (D) and
suspension bracket (E) to the back of the fan housing (A).
CAUTION: Allow for the thickness of ceiling board used
in your application. Do not flush mount to the joist. The
flange should be flush with the ceiling board.
2. Secure the fan housing (A) to the joists with suspension
brackets (D, E) using wood screws (AA).
3. Secure suspension brackets (D, E) to the fan housing (A)
using the two machine screws (BB) and secure suspension
bracket (C) to the other side of housing using the short
machine screw (CC).
