Installing the energiser outdoors
The energiser may be installed outdoors, powered by a battery.
WARNING!
Do not power the energiser with mains/line power if it is being installed outdoors.
To install the energiser outdoors:
1. Select a suitable installation site.
2. M ount the energiser on a post. Use the template printed on the back cover of this manual, if
required.
3. Connect the Fence earth terminal (green) to the energiser earth system.
4. Connect the Fence output terminal (red) to the fence.
5. Connect the energiser to the battery using battery leads.

Installing the energiser as part of a solar installation
The energiser may be installed with solar panels as part of a solar installation.
A solar installation consists of these items:
• The energiser
• A battery (or battery bank)
• One or more solar panels
• An energiser earth system
The required power rating of the solar panel(s) depends upon the local conditions. For help with
positioning your solar panel correctly, see the supplier of your solar panel and refer to your local
meteorological service.
