MOTOR SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Danger of electric shock! Do not use the appliance in the rain. Do not immerse power cord, power plug or motor in water or other liquids. Never hold
them under running water. Do not touch them with wet hands. Do not operate the appliance with wet hands, or while standing on a wet floor.
Unplug and remove the rotisserie when not in use.
Do not operate the rotisserie with a damaged power cord or plug, or if the rotisserie malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner.
Always use extension cords intended for and marked "outdoor use".
Keep the appliance and power cord out of reach of children.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
The appliance should be supplied through a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
The appliance is to be connected to a socket-outlet having an earthing contact.
The supply cord should be regularly examined for signs of damage and the appliance is not to be used if the cord is damaged.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling, moving or cleaning.
Ensure the rated voltage shown on the rating label corresponds with the voltage of the power supply.
Protect the power cord against damages. Do not let it hang over sharp edges, do not squeeze or bend it. Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces,
open flames and grease and ensure that nobody can pull on or trip over it unintentionally.
Do not open the motor housing under any circumstances. Do not insert fingers or foreign objects in any opening of the motor and do not obstruct the
air vents.
Connect the mains plug to an easily accessible socket, in order to quickly disconnect the appliance from the mains supply in an emergency.
NOTES FOR USE
1. Make sure the charcoal grate is empty.
2. Remove the cooking grid.
3. Distribute solid firelighters in the middle of the charcoal grate.
4. Stack up charcoal in a pyramid above the firelighters.
5. Light the solid firelighters complying to EN 1860-3.
6. While wearing protective gloves, carefully spread the hot charcoal evenly across the charcoal grate with a long-handled tool.
7. While wearing protective gloves replace the cooking grid.
8. Grease the cooking grid with some vegetable oil.
9. Only place food on the grill after the charcoal is covered with an ash layer. The ash is white during the day and deep red at night.
Note: If additional charcoal is needed, remove the food from the cooking grid and, while wearing protective gloves, remove the cooking grid and
place additional charcoal without disturbing the hot charcoal. Carefully replace the cooking grid and food while wearing protective gloves.
10. Do not use the appliance near flammable objects (keep at a safe distance, at least 3 meters).
11. Do not leave the appliance unattended during use.
12. When cooking is finished, allow charcoal to burn out. Except in the case of an emergency, do not pour water on hot charcoal.
Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.
WARNING! This barbecue will become very hot, do not move it during operation.
Do not use indoors!
WARNING! Do not use spirit or petrol for lighting or re-lighting! Use only firelighters complying to EN 1860-3!
WARNING! Keep children and pets away.
WARNING: Danger of carbon monoxide poisoning. Do not use the appliance indoors, only operate outdoors!
Do not use the barbecue in a confined and/or habitable space e.g. houses, tents, caravans, motor homes or boats. Danger of carbon
monoxide poisoning fatality.
WARNINGS:
ATTENTION! Always wear protective gloves when grilling or adjusting the appliance. The appliance and all parts can become very hot during the grilling
process.
IMPORTANT! Do not pour water into the appliance while it is still hot.
IMPORTANT! When grilling, grease from meat may drip onto the charcoal and cause a grease fire. Do not use water to extinguish grease fires!
IMPORTANT! Use caution since flames can flare up when fresh air suddenly comes in contact with fire.
GRILLING
Always wash your hands before and after handling uncooked meat and before eating.
Always keep raw meat away from cooked meat and other foods.
Before cooking, ensure grill surfaces and tools are clean and free of old food residues.
DO NOT use the same utensils to handle cooked and uncooked foods.
Ensure all meat is cooked thoroughly before eating.
CAUTION: Eating raw or undercooked meat can cause food poisoning (e.g. bacteria strains such as E.coli).
To reduce the risk of undercooked meat, cut open to ensure it is cooked all the way through.
CAUTION: If the meat has been cooked sufficiently, its juices should be clear and there should be no traces of pink/red juice or meat colouring.
Pre-cooking larger pieces of meat and joints is recommended before finally cooking on the grill.
After cooking on your grill, always clean the cooking surfaces and utensils.
Never leave charcoal and ashes in the appliance unattended. Before the appliance can be left unattended, remaining charcoal and ashes must
be removed from it. Use caution to protect yourself and your property.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Let the appliance completely cool down for at least 48 hours and remove the remaining fuel before cleaning and maintenance.
2. Carefully place remaining charcoal and ashes in a non-combustible metal container and saturate completely with water. Allow charcoal and water
to remain in the metal container 24 hours prior to disposing. Extinguished charcoal and ashes should be placed a safe distance from all structures
and combustible materials. With a garden hose, completely wet the surface beneath and around the appliance to extinguish any charcoal or
ashes which may have fallen during the cooking process.
3. Wipe the appliance with a damp, soft cloth. Only use water and, if necessary, a neutral detergent for cleaning and then allow the appliance to dry
well.
4. Never use chemical, alkaline, acidic, solvent-based or abrasive cleaning agents as these can damage the surface of the appliance. Do not use a
steam jet or high-pressure cleaner for cleaning.
5. Remove any mold or mold stains with a neutral detergent and water.
6. This appliance does not contain any parts which can be repaired by users. If the appliance shows signs of damage, stop using it and consult the
manufacturer or dealer. Repair and replacement of spare parts may only be carried out by a qualified specialist.
STORAGE / OVERWINTERING
1. Ensure the appliance is completely cooled down and dry before storage.
2. Store the appliance and fuel in a cool, dry, frost free, well-ventilated place to prevent mold and mildew stains. Keep the appliance and fuel away
from flammable objects.
3. Make sure the appliance is protected from moisture and direct sunlight, and out of the reach of children.
4. Cover the appliance to protect it from excessive rusting.
5. In case of heavy rain / bad weather, it is recommended to store the appliance indoors or use a suitable shelter to cover it.
6. Always keep information on this appliance (e. g. assembly instructions, instructions for use, packaging) together with the appliance.
