Emergency Warning
Functionality (EWF)
This radio supports Emergency Warning
Functionality (EWF). In the event of a techni-
cal or natural disaster in the region where the
radio receives a DAB signal, Emergency Au-
thority will activate an alarm, bypassing the
regular program providers.
In the event of EWF activation when the radio
is in standby mode, it will automatically wake
up and play the alarm sequence.
During an EWF alarm, the display also shows
additional text information.
To set the EWF function, press the menu
button, select [system settings] and then
[emergency warning]. Rotate the volume
knob to select from these options:
[warning only]: Only official warnings will ac-
tivate the EWF alarm.
[no warning]: EWF is disabled. Alarm will not
activate during emergency situation.
[warning + test]: Alarm will activate during
official warning and also during test warning..
Note: The availability of this function depends
on the country/region.

If you prefer listening to the radio privately,

to a low level to avoid any discomfort or hear-
ing damage.
Once the headphones are plugged in, the
