Possible causes of faults, and their remedies
Problem
Single cable matrix
fails to switch
(permanent or temporary
loss of picture)
Single cable matrix
operates, but no
associated picture
appears
No reception, despite
suffi cient signal level at
the receiver

Possible cause
No control signal from
receiver, or incorrect control
signal
SCR assigned with a PIN code
by a receiver
Assigning a frequency to more
than one receiver allows the
same SCR (with or without
PIN code) to be assigned to
them
Incorrect input cable frequency
Incorrect setting for LNB
frequency/frequencies
Summated power at the
satellite input is too high
The spectral power density of
the individual transponders at
the input to the EXU 908 may
fl uctuate excessively
Solution
Check that there are no short circuits in the connection from
the receiver to the single cable matrix. Menu settings for the
receiver (Check it is in single-cable mode!).
Receiver operating voltage should not be greater than 14 V
Check the menu settings or the receiver(s).
Check that frequencies are assigned to one receiver only!
Check menu settings of all connected receivers.
Check that frequencies are assigned to one receiver only!
Check the menu settings or the receiver(s).
Attenuate the signal, make allowances for the pre-emphasis
through the LNB (it may be necessary to use longer connection
cables to the LNB)
Attenuate the signal selectively by frequency;
make allowances for the frequency-dependency of the LNB
