4. Remove the plug in gear box and replace with
dipstick/breather cap. Check the gear box oil level. If
low fill with 90W gear lube.
To start the gasoline engine
Manual start:
•
Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
•
Pull the starter grip until resistance is felt, then pull
briskly.
Electric start:
•
Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the ON
position.
•
Turn the key to the start position to start engine. Release
key after the engine is started.
NOTE: electric start engines can also be started manually:
make sure the ignition key is turned to the ON position. Pull
the starter grip until resistance is felt, then pull briskly.
As the engine warms up, gradually move the choke lever
to the open position and adjust the throttle level for the
desired engine speed.
NOTE: for further details on engine operation, see the
enclosed Honda owner's manual.
Before operating jetter
1. Connect the quick coupling fitting to the water
supply hose. Connect water supply hose to the jetter
inlet and close the inlet supply valve (figure 6).
2. Connect the other end of the water supply hose to
the water faucet and turn the tap on. Make sure there
are no kinks or unnecessary bends in the supply hose
and that the water flow is at least the flow rate of the
machine.
3. Connect a jetter hose to the jetter's outlet quick
coupling on the end of the connection hose or if a
hose reel is used; attach connection hose to plug
fitting on hose reel.
4. Insert jetter hose 15-20 cm into drain without a jetter
nozzle.
5. Open the inlet supply valve and run water through
the jetter and hoses.
6. Continue to run water through the jetter until all air
has been purged.
7. Close the inlet supply valve.
8. Attach a jetter nozzle to the jet hose. Hand tighten
for a snug fit. Insert the jet hose into the line several
feet.
NOTE:
•
KJ-1590 II: If 16 Amps is not available decrease the
pressure to decrease the current draw (figure 7). At
80 bar the machine uses 16 A (no extension cord
used), at 90 bar the machine uses 20 A. Using an
extension cord increases the need for Amps.
•
KJ-1590 II: Make sure there are no other users on the
same electric supply.
•
KJ-1590 II: The thickness of an electric extension cable
has to be 2.5mm≤ and has to be rolled out entirely.
The rule of thumb is you will loose 8 bar pressure per
10m extension cord.
•
You can also use a water tank to suck water out.
Please take into account a drop in the pressure.
First start the motor to let the air out of the hose
(1-2 minutes). The tank can be maximum at 1m below
the machine.
•
Make sure enough water flow is available the reach
the pressure rating. For KJ-1590 II and KJ-3000 it's
15l/min. For KJ-2200 9l/min. A too low water flow
results into a shocking water beam and/or pressure
loss.
Figure 7: To regulate the pressure
•
KJ-1590 II: put the pressure to minimum when you
stop the machine. When you start the machine, make
sure the pressure valve is put to minimum to limit the
current draw when starting up.
Jetter operation
Normal jetting
1. For normal jetting, turn the pulse actuator to the OFF
position and guide the hose into the line by hand
(figure 8).
2. When the jetter nozzle encounters a bend, its advance
will usually slow or stop. The jetter hose has a slight
bend or SET to it. The reverse thrust of the nozzle
will advance the jetter hose, but it is also necessary
to manually feed and rotate the jetter hose to WORK
THE SET around the bend.
3. If the hose won't advance, pull back on the hose and
rotate the hose a quarter to a half turn so the set will
align itself with the bend. Then advance the hose
forward.
