Stylus
The
stylus is
subject
to
natural
wear and tear during
normal
playing. Therefore,
we recommend
you
occasionally check
the
stylus and,
in
the
case
of
diamond
styli,
this should
be
carried
out
after
approximately
300
playing hours. Your
specialist
dealer
will
be
pleased
to
do this
for you
free
of
charge.
Worn
or
damaged
(splintered)
styli
chisel
the modulation from
the
grooves
and
destroy
records.
Therefore,
only
use as
replacement
the
stylus types
recommended
in
the
technical data
of
the
cartridge.
lmitated
styli
result
in
audible
quality
losses
and
in-
creased
wear and
tear
of
records.
Please
remember
that,
for
physical
reasons,
the
stylus holder
with
the
diamond stylus
is
extremely
fine
and must
therefore
be necessarily sensitive
to
impacts, shocks
or uncontrolled
movement.

lnstalling
of
1|2-inch cartridge
Your
Dual turntable
will
provide excellent
tracking and
re-
production
if
used
in
conjunction
with
ULM
(Ultra low
mass)
cartridges. However
the
tonearm
characteristics are
so
good
that
even
substantially heavier
112"
carlridges
will
operate
optimally.

you
wish
to
fit
a
standard
112"
cartridge,
please
proceed
as
follows:

Remove
the
cartridge
from the
head
shell
as
described
in
the
section "Replacing the cartridge".
3) Attach
rhe 112"
cartridge
to
the
mounting plate
with
the
aid
of
the
system
installation
gauge
and,
using
the
acces-
sories enclosed
with
the
cartridge.
This
has been
correctly
installed
if
the
tip of
the
stylus
-
viewed
from
above
-
is
in the
V-shaped
recess
of
the
system installation
gauge.
Viewed
from
the side, the stylus must
be
in the
area
of
the
rectangu
lar
recess
(Fig. 9).

smaller
thread

the
special
screw

bevelled side
to

outside,
screw
the corresponding
additional
weights
onto

thicker
part

the
screw.

set the stylus
pressure
and anti-skating force required
for
your
cartridge.

having
mounted
a

height

playing

pick-up arm

needle lowers
into
the
run-in
groove
of
the
record.

Servicing
All
the
lubrication
points
have
sufficient
oil.
Thus,
your
unit
will
operate impeccably
for
many
years
under normal condi-
tions.
Never
try to
lubricate any
of
the lubrication
points
your-
self.
lf
your
record player
should
ever
need servicing,
either
take
it to
your
specialist
dealer
or
ask
him for the
address
of
the
nearest
authorized Dual
Servicing
Workshop.
Please
make
sure
that only
original Dual
replacement parts
are
used.
Should
the unit
ever
be
dispatched, make sure
that this
is
packed
perfectly,
if
possible,
by
using
the
original
packaging.
The
platter
The
balanced
full-size aluminum
alloy platter
lies
directly
on
the motorspindle and,when
placed
ln position,
is
automatically
fixed through its own
weight.
Additional
locking
is
not
neces-
sary and
is
also
not
provided for.

Remove
the platter
before transporting
the unit!
Subsequent
transport
lf
you
wish
to transport the
unit
long distances, we recommend
that the
cover
and
the platter
be
removed. The
counterweight
should
also
be
removed.
Screw
the
three transport
safety
screws
back
in position.
Ensure
that
the tonearm
is
locked and
the
stylus cover
is
in
position-

each
transport,
the
unit
should
be
started
once
with
the
tonearm
locked
for
the
purpose
of
automatic
adjustment
of the automatic
shut off

First
of
all the
POWEB
