To remove MP3 files from the recorders memory, first select the desired MP3 file
with a short press on the previous [7] or next [11] button. The number of the
file is shown [h] on the display. Press and hold the delete button [15] until dEL
appears on the screen. Press the OK button [8] shortly to delete the selected
MP3 file.
To delete all MP3-files, press and hold the delete button [15] until dEL appears
on the screen. Press the previous [7] or next [11] button, the display indicates
ALL dEL. Press the OK button [8] shortly to delete all recordings in the current
directory.
It is possible to select a specific part of an MP3-file. During playback, press the
A-B select button [15] once to select the starting point. The A-B select indicator
[p] will show a flashing B. Press the A-B select button [15] again to set the
ending point. The A-B select indicator [p] will now show A B, indicating that A-
B select play is enabled. When reaching the ending point, playback will
automatically jump back to the starting point.
The recorder also has a follow- and compare function. When a part of an MP3 is
selected, the user can re-record that part and compare it with the original part.
This is a handy feature e.g. for learning languages.
To enable follow mode, first select a part of the MP3-file as described above.
Then press the A-B select button [15] again to start follow mode. The follow
mode indicator is shown [q]. For the duration of the selected part, the recorder
will record the users input.
Press the A-B select button [15] again to enter compare mode. The compare
mode indicator is shown [r]. The recorder will now continuously play the
selected part of the MP3-file and the users input until the A-B select button [15]
is pressed again.

8. USB connection

Simply plug one side of the included USB cable in the USB port [3] and the
other side in a free USB port on a computer (not incl.) running
®
Windows
98/SE/ME/2000/XP/VISTA. The device should be recognized
automatically as an extra disk drive that can be accessed through an explorer
program. Files can be copied, moved, deleted ...
The display shows PCUSb.
Do not unplug the device from the computer when buSY is indicated on the
display [2], or data will be lost.
The included disk contains a converter tool for music formats. Refer to the
manual on the disk for installation instructions (TOOLS USER Manual.pdf).
9.
Battery
When the battery indicator [b] shows only one line and the words Low Batt appear
on the display, replace the battery. Note that when low battery condition is
detected during recording, the file is saved before the recorder switches off.
Open the battery compartment [18] by sliding downward (see indication on the
battery cover) and lift it.
Place 2 new type AAA batteries inside the battery compartment, in accordance
with the polarity markings on the inside of the battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment.
