Disengaging/Engaging the Boom Quick Pin

The boom is equipped with a quick pin, which can be
locked in the disengaged position. Locking the quick pin
in the disengaged position enables the user to use both
hands for boom extension and retraction.
To disengage the boom quick pin momentarily:
1. Pull the quick pin away from the boom, without
twisting or rotating the pin.

2. Release the quick pin to reengage in the desired
hole.
To lock the boom quick pin
1. Pull the quick pin away from the boom.
2. Twist the pin clockwise, ensuring the pin catches
on the ledge in its slot. The pin is now locked in the
outward position.
3. Adjust the boom as necessary while the pin is still
disengaged.
4. Twist the pin counterclockwise and release to
reengage in the desired hole.

Extending/Retracting the Boom

To extend/retract the boom:
1. Be sure to support the nose and upper boom weld-
ment. Be aware of the weight.
2. Pull the boom quick pin and twist clockwise to
unlock the boom.
3. Use one or both hands to extend or retract the
upper boom weldment until the desired tail length is
reached.
4. While still supporting the nose and upper boom
weldment, twist the boom quick pin counterclock-
wise to lock the boom. You may need to slide
the boom in or out until the pin fully engages the
desired hole.
