Troubleshooting guide
NOTE!
Always disconnect the power cable from the wall socket before maintenance!
Problem
The reclining module does not
work.
The reclining module stops and can
only run in the opposite direction.
The reclining module runs
automatically to the fully reclined/
upright position.
The reclining module is running
slower than it usually does.
The reclining module cannot move
to the upright position.
There is a noise when the reclining
module reclines or moves to the
upright position.
Check
Is the power cable connected to
the sofa?
Is the power cable connected to
the wall socket?
Is there visual damage to the
cables or the power supply?
Is the reclining module in the fully
reclined position?
Is the reclining module in the fully
upright position?
Is there any object pressing on the
control buttons?
Is there any object in the gap
between the buttons that is
causing them to get stuck?
Is the reclining module overloaded?
Is there any obstacle under the
footrest?
Does the noise come from the
motor?
Does the noise come from the
mechanism?
Try
Connect a lamp or similar object
to the power socket to check that
the power supply is working as it
should.
Check all connections.
Damaged parts must be replaced –
Contact IKEA Customer Service.
When the reclining module has
reached its fully reclined position, it
can only move towards the upright
position.
When the reclining module has
reached its fully upright (sitting)
position, it can only recline.
Remove the object and try again.
Remove the object and try again.
Remove the load and try again.
Remove the obstacle and try again.
A damaged motor must be
replaced – Contact IKEA Customer
Service.
