REMOVING THE FLAIL SCREEN
If the dischargearea becomesclogged,removethe flail
screenand cleanarea as follows:
1. Stop theengine.Makecertainthe chipper/shredder
vacuumhascometo a completestop.
2. Beforeuncloggingthe dischargechute,disconnect
and groundthe sparkplug wire to retaining post.
3. Removethe vacuumbag or blowerchute (if
equipped)from theunit as instructedin the OPERA-
TION sectionto obtainaccessto flail screen.
4. Removeself tappingscrewon right sideof unit that
attachesto the flail screen.See Figure5-1.
5. Removehex screwon topof rear housingnear
mountingbracketand theflange lock nutthat
securesflail screen.See Figure5-1.
6. Removeand cleanthe screenby scrapingor wash-
ingwith water.See Figure5-2.
7. Reinstallthescreen.
