Prior to turning on the pump and beginning the process of filtration the filter has to be filled with water. This operation
is made possible by the self-priming mechanism that defines the comfort of using filters of this series. Its operation and
service are described in detail in subsection 6.1.
NOTES:
• In case of overheating (e.g. impeller blocked by impurities or dry operation) a thermal switch installed in the pump will
turn off the pump power supply until it cools down. The reconnection will be effected automatically.
• In case of overheating of the UV sterilizer ballast (caused e.g. by inconsiderate covering it or damage of the built-in the
fluorescent lamp starter), a thermal switch built-in the ballast will disconnect the sterilizer from the power supply until it cools
down. Lamp indicating sterilizer's operation will turn off. The reconnection will be effected automatically.
• The indicator diode placed on the UV sterilizer socket ballast signalizes its operation at all times.
Optimal and failure-free operation of the filter can be achieved only with original AQUAEL parts and filtration media,
The media match UNIMAX Professional filters.
• Prior to installation and each start of the device read the maintenance and assembly manual carefully.
• UNIMAX Professional series filters in all versions are manufactured in compliance with the EU safety standards that
are currently in force. They are intended only for aquaristic purposes and can be used indoors only and for water of
temperature up to 35 o C.
• Prior to each operation connected with filter maintenance – e.g. assembly, replacement of the cartridges, cleaning
– and always before reaching into water the filter and all other electric devices being in the tank should be discon-
nected from the power supply.
• The power cords cannot be replaced or repaired. It is forbidden to install switches on the power cords. In case
of damaging the pump power cord, complete cover (4) should be replaced, in case of damaging the UV lamp cord
(in FZKN PLUS versions) complete sterilizer fitting (36) should be replaced.
• It is not allowed to use a filter or other electric devices that are mechanically damaged, e.g. broken or with damaged
power cords.
• The device can only be started in an electric network with parameters – voltage and frequency – identical with the
values given on the device and in technical data of the manual.
• During its operation, the filter has to be filled with water, it must not be allowed to operate dry.
• UV sterilizer emits radiation that is harmful for skin and eyes. It should not attempted to turn it on when outside of
the housing!
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
