NOTE: Prior to undertaking any actions described here, the filter (the pump and the UV sterilizer) should be discon-
nected from the power supply by pulling out the plugs.
8.1. Filter cover cannot be closed
The main gasket (5) is improperly installed.
Bad placement of filtration media.
Overfilled media magazines.
8.2. The motor does not work
Broken impeller axis.
Damaged electric cord.
Blocked or damaged impeller.
8.3. Too much air in the filter (splashing sound), or after starting the pump the filter does not
deaerate automatically
Lack of tightness of the intake system elements, in untight
spots the air is sucked in permanently.
During the maintenance, the gasket (15) was forgotten
– see figure 21.
The internal deaerating canal is blocked in the cover and/
or in the impeller chamber cover (16).
8.4. Filter output deteriorates significantly
Improperly composed filtration media.
Impure filtration media.
Too many additional accessories connected to the intake
system or to the outlet.
The water circulation during filtration is not functioning
properly.
Contaminated pump.
Contaminated intake/outlet elements.
8.5. Filter cannot be filled with water as per subsection 6.1
The filter is placed too high thus the filter intake is above
the aquarium water level.
The user has performed few piston movements when
pumping the air out of the filter container (see fig. 16).
The intake and/or outlet system (temporary) are not
properly submerged or are untight and draw the air into
the filter.

Solution
Place the gasket properly in the cover groove.
Place the magazines with filtration media so that they fit
each other and the filter container perfectly.
Remove the excess media. Do not put too much filtration
media in the magazines – see fig. 8.
Solution
Address manufacturer's service.
Replace entire cover (4) – it is not allowed to repair or re-
place the electric cord.
Perform pump maintenance according to subsection 7.3
or replace the impeller.
Solution
Improve the tightness of the intake system elements.
The gasket should be installed.
The canal should be made permeable according to the
descriptions at figures 21 and 22.
Solution
Check whether the composition of the filtration media is
compliant with the one recommended by AQUAEL.
Clean or replace the media according to subsection 7.2.
Check and possibly remove the elements that are not
indispens able.
Verify whether the filter is not placed too low in relation to
the water level or whether there is no undesirable obstacle
in the water circuit, e.g. folded elastic conduits.
Perform the maintenance according to subsection 7.3
Disconnect this system and clean all of the elements.
Solution
The top surface of the filter should be located at least 10
cm below the aquarium water level.
Carefully read the description at figure 16 and act accord-
ingly.
Place these elements according to description at figure
15 deep in the water, check the tightness of their con-
nections .
