Do not insert any tool or
foreign objects into the valve
outlet or safety relief valve.
The valve may be damaged
resulting in a leak.
Leaking
propane may result in explo-
sion, fire, severe personal
injury, or death.
If a leak is detected at any
time, STOP and call the fire
department.
If unable to stop a gas leak,
immediately close LPG
tank valve and immediately
contact an LPG gas supplier
or fire department.

WA R N I N G
Do not insert a POL trans-
port plug (plastic part with
external threads) into the
Type 1 valve outlet. It will
defeat the Safety relief valve
feature.

REMOVING THE LPG TANK FOR TRANSPORT/
STORAGE
S T E P 0 1
Ensure that the control
knobs are turned to OFF.
❶ Ensure that the LPG
S T E P 0 2
tank is OFF by turning the OPD
hand wheel clockwise to a full stop.
❷ Turn the coupling nut counter-
clockwise by hand to remove
the regulator. (Do not use tools
to disconnect.)
S T E P 0 3
Place the safety cap onto
the Type 1 valve outlet.
Only use the type of safety cap
on the cylinder valve outlet that
is provided with the cylinder
valve. (Other types of caps or plugs
may result in leakage of propane.)
• A disconnected LPG tank in
storage or during transportation
must have a safety cap installed.
• Failure to use safety cap as
directed may result in serious
personal injury and/or prop-
erty damage.
FIT TINGS & HOSES
• Annual checking and tightening
of metal fittings is recommended.
• Before each use, check to see if
hoses are cut or worn.
• Replace damaged hoses before
using appliance. (Use only
Blackstone approved replacement
parts for valve, hose, or regulator.)

FILLING & E XCHANGE
Use only those reputable exchange
companies that inspect, precision
fill, test and certify their tanks.
LPG dealer must purge new tank
before filling.
Volume of propane in tank will vary
by temperature. A frosty regulator
indicates gas overfill. Immediately
close LPG Tank valve and call local
LPG gas dealer for assistance.
Do not release liquid propane (LPG)
gas into the atmosphere.
To remove gas from LPG Tank,
contact a certified LPG dealer or
local fire department for assistance.
Exchange tank only for an OPD
safety feature-equipped tank.
