6 Measurements Modes
When taking measurements pressing the scroll wheel opens a context menu. Scroll the
wheel to browse through different options.
Press the button esc to switch between measurement mode and main menu.
NOTICE
All color data inclusive spectral data are saved automatically and can be transferred to
smart-chart.
6.1 Difference Measurement
Compare a standard with a number of sample(s). You can search for matching standards,
create new standards and compare samples to standards. Results are automatically saved.
1. Select a stored standard, use AUTO standard or measure a new standard.
2. For a new standard input the name and the no. of readings required:
3. Place instrument on standard.
4. Press button operate to take the readings.
5. Save results by copying settings: Solid (only 45° angle and no effect data) or Metallic
(all angles and effect data).
6. Place instrument on first sample and press button operate to take the readings.
7. Scroll through the pages for color differences, sparkle and graininess (*) and other
results.
8. Press button operate to continue with next sample.
9. To exit Difference mode press button esc.
(*) Only available with BYK-mac i.

– Change character: Turn scroll wheel.
– Move to next digit: Press scroll wheel.
– Move one digit back: Press button esc.
– Press button operate to confirm.
