5 Instrument Calibration
A black and white calibration is requested every 3 months. The color test is requested
every 30 days. It is recommended to perform the effect test at the same time. Make sure
to perform all in laboratory environment (temperature 20 - 25°C, humidity 30 - 60%).
Color test
Every 30 days the instrument must be checked on the color test standard included in the
delivery content.
1.
Select Setup > Calibrate > Color test.
2.
Place unit on green color checking standard and confirm with OK.
If color test fails clean the test standard and repeat. If reading is out of tolerance a calibra-
tion is required, see below.
Black and white calibration
1.
Select Setup > Calibrate > Black / White Calibration.
2.
Remove the protective cap from the zero reflectance standard.
3.
Place unit on zero reflectance standard and confirm with OK.
4.
Place unit on white calibration standard and confirm with OK.
5.
Continue with the color test, see above.
6.
Re-attach the protective cap to the zero reflectance standard.
If calibration fails clean the white standard and repeat. If calibration still fails contact cus-
tomer support.
NOTICE
Effect test on silver effect standard (available with BYK-mac i) is done using
Measurement
range indicated on the label in the lid of the test standard box.
