PRECAUTIONS
1. Always sterilize the battery case in the open, face-down position.
2. Batteries contain nickel metal hydride (NiMH) and must be recycled or properly disposed. Disposal of nickel
metal hydride batteries as municipal waste is prohibited. Dispose or recycle in accordance with your local,
state and government regulations. In the U.S., call 1-800-925-4255 for additional information on battery
disposal or recycling. Outside the U.S. contact your local ConMed Linvatec representative.
3. Depletion of the battery charge will result if the battery is attached to a handpiece while the handpiece is
stored or is not being used.
4. Do not immerse battery in any liquid or solution. Contact corrosion may occur resulting in decreased battery
and/or handpiece performance.
5. Do not expose battery to fire or incineration.
6. Batteries should be completely discharged if being returned to manufacturer.
7. Never charge battery while it is in the battery case. The battery must be charged using the sterile transfer platform.
8. Charge battery using the appropriate Charging Platform and the Universal Battery Charger (PRO3600).
9. Note that nickel metal hydride batteries lose approximately 15 - 20% of their charge per month during storage in
nominal room temperature. Therefore, it is recommended that the batteries be stored on the charger while not in use
to assure full charge.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Preparation:
1. Clean battery case after each use. Clean the other system components as required. See "CLEANING and
STERILIZATION" information.
2. Sterilize only the battery case and shroud after cleaning and prior to each use. Do not sterilize battery. See
"CLEANING and STERILIZATION" information.
Charge the battery on the battery charger using the charging platform. To charge a battery:
1. Slide the charging platform onto the battery charger until it completely snaps in place (See Figure 1).
2. Insert the battery into a receptacle of the charging platform (See Figure 2). Charging will start automatically and will
take approximately 5 to 70 minutes to obtain a complete charge, depending on previous discharge.
3. During the charge cycle, the yellow "charging" LED will illuminate.
