Operating Instructions
3.7.2
Air connection
DIASTAR 025
NOTE!
Relationship between medium pressure and loaded spring components!
The closing force of the actuators is designed for the specified PN pressure level. Operation at very low medium pressures and very
powerful actuators leads to increased diaphragm wear, e.g. use DIASTAR Sixteen (FC) only at medium pressures > PN6.
► To extend the service life at low medium pressures, the number of loaded spring components can be reduced. For the specific
dimensioning, please contact your representative at Georg Fischer Piping Systems.
DANGER!
Reducing the number of loaded spring components!
A reduced number of spring components leads to a reduced closing force. As a result, at higher medium pressure, there is a possi-
bility that the valve can no longer be closed and thus the line system can no longer be completely shut off.
► Design diaphragm valves and loaded spring components according to medium pressure.
3.7.3
Control pressure
FC mode
6 bar max. for FC mode; lower control
pressure possible due to reduction of the
loaded spring components.
Depending on dimension, see table of
pressure levels and control pressure
diagrams.
Compressed air class (ISO 8573-1) 2 or 3
at -10°C and 3 or 4 at T>0°C
When the medium pressure exceeds 10
bar, the control pressure must be
throttled by exhaust air (adjust actuator
cycle time to approx. 3 s)
Temperature of control medium, max.
40 °C
Note: For optimum service life of the fittings, it is recommended to set the control pressure based on the medium pressure - see
control pressure diagrams.
DIASTAR 025
G ¼"
FO mode
5 bar max. for the FO mode. For the
dimension DN50 and a medium pressure
of >10 bar, the max. control pressure is 6
bar.
Depending on dimension, see table of
pressure levels and control pressure
diagrams.
Compressed air class (ISO 8573-1) 2 or 3
at -10°C and 3 or 4 at T>0°C
When the medium pressure exceeds
10 bar, the control medium must be
throttled by exhaust air (adjust actuator
cycle time to approx. 3 s)
Temperature of control medium, max.
40 °C
Depending on the medium pressure, low
control pressures can be selected.
Pneumatic diaphragm valve DIASTAR 025
DA mode
5 bar max. for the DA mode. For the
dimension DN50 and a medium pressure
of >10 bar, the max. control pressure is 6
bar.
Depending on dimension, see table of
pressure levels and control pressure
diagrams.
