Measures during operation
DANGER!
Use of hazardous and non-approved medium!
Non-approved chemically aggressive or hot medium can attack materials, cause personal injury and endanger the environment.
Components not in contact with the medium can be attacked by leakage inside the valve.
► Observe the safety data sheets or the applicable safety regulations for the medium used.
► Check the compatibility of the valve materials with the medium.
► Do not use unapproved medium.
► Regularly check the valve for wear and, if necessary, perform service.
► Wear appropriate protective equipment.
► For hot medium: Work only on cooled down system.
► In case of uncertainty regarding approved medium, contact the Georg Fischer Piping Systems Sales Company.
DANGER!
Use of hazardous and diffusing medium!
Highly aggressive chemical medium can attack materials, cause personal injury and endanger the environment. Components not in
contact with the medium can be attacked by leakage and diffusion, which can cause the upper part of the housing to burst.
► Perform regular visual inspections of the valve according to the conditions of use and the potential hazard to prevent leakage
and damage.
► Disassemble and check the valve for wear at appropriate intervals.
DANGER!
Operation of the valve as an end fitting with hazardous medium!
By using the valve as an end fitting, aggressive medium can escape in an uncontrolled manner and cause damage to property and
personal injury, as well as endangering the environment.
► Depressurize the piping system before opening the valve.
► Only open the valve as an end fitting if the medium can be collected and discharged safely.
► Wear appropriate protective equipment.
DANGER!
Piping system not tight!
Leaky connections can cause medium to escape and cause property damage and personal injury, as well as endanger the environ-
ment.
► Check the tightness of the connections before putting into operation.
► Periodic check that no medium escapes to the outside.
► Wear appropriate protective equipment.
NOTE!
Cavitation should be avoided!
Cavitation can cause damage to components in the diaphragm valve.
► Use valve only in optimal control operation.
NOTE!
Valve is seated firmly!
Valves that are in the same position all the time can get stuck over time.
► Operate at least 1-2 times a year to check that they work properly.
