6. ABOUT YOUR BATTERY AND CHARGING
THE TOOL
NOTE Make sure your battery is fully charged. The
tool comes equipped with charger and built-in battery
so there is no need to ever remove or replace the
battery. The 3.6V Lithium-ion battery is equipped to
provide up to 500 shots on a single charge.
6.1 CHARGING PROCEDURE:
1. Plug the charger into the back of the tool (Fig 9).
2. Plug the charger into the wall outlet.
3. Charging may take up to 2 hours.
6.2 IMPORTANT CHARGING NOTES:
1. Only use the provided charger
2. Charge Indicator Light Status
a) While the charger is unplugged:
Green = good charge
Red flash = low battery
Red Blip (on briefly,off for 4 seconds approx) =
critically low battery (tool disabled)
Green flash (on for 0.5seconds off for 4 seconds) =
good battery, tool in power saving mode
b) While the charger is plugged in:
Red flash = charging
Green = full charged
Quick Flashing Red = Deffective battery (replace
tool)
Tool will not fire staples while charger is plugged
in. Disconnect the charger from the tool when
charging is complete.
3. Longest life and best performance can be obtained
if the tool battery is charged when the air tempera-
ture is between 65°F and 75°F (18°-24°C). DO NOT
charge the tool battery in an air temperature below
40°F(0℃), or above 104°F(40℃). This will prevent
serious damage to the battery.
4. It is recommended to wait 15 minutes after charging
before using the tool to avoid the possibility of the
tool overheating and damaging the battery.
5. If the battery does not charge properly:
a) Check current at outlet by plugging in a lamp or
other appliance.
b) Check to see if outlet is connected to a light switch
which turns power off when you turn out the lights.
c) When charging the tool, move to a location where
the surrounding air temperature is approximately
65°F - 75°F (18°C - 24°C).
d) If charging problems persist,connect our service
department.
6. The power tool should be recharged when it fails to
produce sufficient power on jobs which were easily
done previously. DO NOT CONTINUE to use the
tool under these conditions in order to prevent
damage to the battery. Follow the charging
procedure. You may also charge a partially charged
tool whenever you desire with no adverse effect on
the battery or battery memory.
7. Under certain conditions, with the charger plugged
into the power supply, the exposed charging
contacts inside the charger can be shorted by
foreign material. Foreign materials of a conductive
nature such as, but not limited to, steel wool,
aluminum foil, or any buildup of metallic particles
should be kept away from charger cavities. Unplug
charger before attempting to clean tool.
8. Do not freeze or immerse charger in water or any
other liquid.
7. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The tool is virtually maintenance free. Keep tool clean
and free of dust. Wipe clean with a dry cloth; do not
use harsh chemicals to clean.
There are no parts inside the equipment which require
additional maintenance.
8. STORAGE
Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry
place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage
temperature is between 41°F (5°C) and 86°F (30°C).
Store the electric tool in its original packaging.
9. DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING
The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it
from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in
this packaging can be reused or recycled. The
equipment and its accessories are made of various
types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never
place defective equipment in your household refuse.
The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection
center for proper disposal. If you do not know the
whereabouts of such a collection point, you should
ask in your local council offices.
This product has been marked with a symbol
relating to removing electric and electronic
waste. This means that this product shall not
be discarded with household waste but that
it shall be returned to a collection system. It will then
be recycled or dismantled in order to reduce the
impact on the environment. Electric and electronic
equipment can be hazardous for the environment and
for human health since they contain hazardous
substances.
DISPOSAL OF AN EXHAUSTED BATTERY PACK
To preserve natural resources, please recycle
or dispose of the battery pack properly. This
battery pack contains Li-ion batteries.
Consult your local waste authority for
information regarding available recycling and/or
disposal options. Discharge your battery pack by
operating your tool, then remove the battery pack from
the tool housing and cover the battery pack connec-
tions with heavy-duty adhesive tape to prevent short
circuit and energy discharge. Do not attempt to open
or remove any of the components.
