POSSIBLE CAUSE ( S )
1. Packing seals settled
2. Seals worn
1. Anti-siphon valve dirty or
O-ring damaged
1. Inlet screen clogged
2. Suction pipe leak
3. Piston ring or liner
damaged
1. Debris in piston or liner
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Tighten retainer screws snugly.
2. Remove retainer screws, retainer
and bearing. Remove
3 packing seals and replace.
1. Remove and clean or replace
anti-siphon vent kit.
1. Remove pump from tank.
Remove suction pipe, spacer
and inlet screen. Clean inlet
screen and reinstall all parts.
2. Remove pump from tank.
Remove suction pipe and
spacer, and inspect for wear or
damage. Replace as necessary.
3. Remove piston cover and
inspect piston ring and liner.
Scoring and severe scuffing
of liner indicates wear. Install
Overhaul kit if necessary.
1. Disassemble and clean piston
and liner. Check for debris
lodged in the piston ring or
behind liner. Small dimples in
the liner indicate dirt, debris or
welding slag contaminants are in
the tank. Replace piston ring and
liner. If appropriate, flush tank of
all contaminants.
