WARNING
Note: Optional Krowne Quick Disconnect Device must be
appropriately sized to the Krowne Gas Connector Hose.

any local gas installation codes.

2. It is required that all installation as well as
testing be done by a qualified professional.
3. Do not use strong cleaning products on
connector as it may cause permanent
damage.
Only mild cleaning products
should be used to clean the connector and
it should be rinsed with water following
cleaning.
4. It is extremely important that the restrain-
ing cable provided with the gas hose be
securely attached per the restraining cable
instructions in this manual. The restrain-
ing cable must always be connected when
the appliance is in use. Please refer to the
manual for proper restraining cable instal-
lation.
5. An approved manual gas shut-off valve
must be installed upstream of each
connector before each individual hose
connection and must be located within 6' of
the appliance.
6. The gas outlet must be located within the
same room as the appliance and the con-
nection may not be hidden or covered by or
within any walls, floors or partition.
7. CAUTION – It is important to follow the gas
flow arrows which are permanently marked
on the optional quick disconnect; please
verify gas flow arrows prior to operation.
8. CAUTION – Do not use Quick Disconnect
Device on Dual Fed gas manifold line-up
applications. Only gas shutoff valves with
hoses can be installed in this application
due to gas being fed from 2 locations which
prevents gas safety shut-off feature in the
Quick Disconnect from working properly.

movement or vibration following hose
installation.

casters, movement should be minimized

11. Prevent any unnecessary bending or
flexing of gas connection. The connector
must not be twisted, kinked or torqued.
12. Following installation, the connection must
be tested for any leaks. In order to do so,
follow National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z233.1,
NFPA 54, or SCA B149.1 Natural Gas and
Propane Installation Code. It is possible
that leak test solutions may cause corro-
sion. In order to prevent any damage, rinse
connection with water following test.
13. The final assembly must be checked for
leaks. CAUTION – Matches, candles, open
flames or other sources of ignition shall not
be used for this purpose. Leak test solu-
tions may cause corrosion – waste rinse
after test. To check for gas supply system
leakage, see the National Fuel Gas Code,
ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54 or CSA B149.1,
Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code.
14. Maximum fuel gas pressure that may be
used with the connection is ½ psi (3.5 kPa).
Approved for 1st, 2nd and 3rd family gases
under 50 mbar pressure.
15. Contact with foreign objects or substances
must be avoided. Do not allow anything to
contact hose that is over 110°C (230° F).
16. Once a connector is installed it should
never be removed and used in another
location. A new connector must be used
for each application.
17. DO NOT make adjustments or repairs to
the optional Quick Disconnect, this device
has internal parts that are moveable and
can be permanently damaged. Should a
problem occur, immediately turn off gas
supply and contact qualified personnel to
resolve the situation.
18. Avoid contact with objects, electrical wires,
substances or situations which might
damage your Krowne Gas Connector.
