INSTALLATION
Tips before installation:
1. Before beginning the installation, make sure that the gas supply line has been turned off. It is also
important to make sure the manual gas shut-off valve that will be installed before the Krowne Gas
Hose or Quick Disconnect Device is in the 'OFF' position.
2. The possibilities for connections between the gas supply line and the equipment stub-out may vary
greatly between different appliances. It is imperative that the installer ensure that, when the
equipment is installed, the connector is not kinked, twisted, torqued or forced into any excessive
bending which may strain and possibly damage the hose. Please refer to the illustrations shown on
the following pages and choose the configuration that best suits your needs.
3. Offset the two ends of the connector from one another to minimize the distance between the
appliance and the wall.
Gas Connector Installation Options
1. Depending on the model purchased, select the appropriate configuration and follow the installation
instructions closely.
2. Once you have completed the installation steps for the configuration you choose, go to Completing the
Installation section and follow the remaining required steps.
3. Tighten all connections using wrenches.
4. Make sure gas flow direction is correct on Quick Disconnect Device.
5. Install Restraining Cable.
Configuration #1 - Optional Quick Disconnect Device
Gas Connector Hose with optional Quick Disconnect Device installed on appliance side.
Appliance Side
1. Apply thread sealant/thread tape to the appliance NPT stub-out and tighten with wrench.
2. Attach the 90° Female to Male Elbow onto the appliance NPT stub-out and tighten with wrench.
3. Apply thread sealant/threaded tape to the male end of the NPT Female to Male 90° elbow.
4. Separate the Quick Disconnect Device coupling and attach the male QDD nipple half to the NPT
Female to Male 90°Elbow and tighten with wrench. Verify proper gas flow direction.
5. Apply thread sealant/threaded tape to the male threads on one end of the Gas Connector Hose and
thread the female Quick Disconnect Device onto the threads and tighten. Verify proper gas flow
direction. Make sure this part is installed with the gas flow going in the proper direction.
Gas Supply Side
1. Apply thread sealant/thread tape to the NPT gas
supply nipple.
2. Install the Optional Full Port Gas Valve onto the gas
supply side nipple. Use the included 90° Elbow if
needed to better position the gas hose. If used, apply
thread sealant/thread tape and tighten with wrench.
3. Apply thread sealant/thread tape to the NPT threads of
the Gas Connector Hose.
4. Thread the Gas Connector Hose into the NPT
Gas Shut-off Valve and tighten with a wrench.
5. Connect the QDD and the Gas Connector Hose.
6. Go to Completing the Installation and follow the
remaining required steps. The final assembly must be
checked for leaks.
