WARNING !
This manual must be read and understood by the user before using the PPE. The test methods described in the standards do not
represent actual usage conditions. It is therefore important to study each work situation and that each user is fully trained in different
techniques in order to know the limits of the various devices. It is the employer´s responsibility to ensure that all users are trained in the
proper use, inspection and maintenance of fall protection equipment. Fall protection training should be an integral part of a
comprehensive safety program (Z359.2 / Z259.17). Proper use of fall arrest systems can save lives and reduce the potential of serious
injuries from a fall. The user must be aware that forces experienced during the arrest of a fall or prolonged suspension may cause bodily
injury.
The use of this PPE is restricted to qualified persons properly trained or working under the direct responsibility of a competent superior.
The user's safety depends on the continuing efficacy of the PPE, its strength and the proper understanding of the instructions in this
manual. The user is personally responsible for any use of this PPE which does not comply with the requirements of this manual and in
the case of non-compliance with the security measures applicable to PPE specified by this manual. The use of this PPE is restricted to
persons in good health, certain medical conditions may affect the safety of the user, in case of doubt contact a physician. Pregnant
women and children must not use this product.
Adhere strictly to the instructions for use, verification, maintenance and storage.
1.0 General Requirements, Warnings and Limitations
These instructions should be supplied to each person using this product. Each user must refer to the regulations governing occupational
safety and health (OSHA), as well as applicable ANSI (Z359.11-2014) and CSA (Z259.10-18) standards. See product marking. Before
any PPE implementation operation, set up a rescue plan to deal with any emergency that may occur during the operation. The products
shall not be used outside its limitations, or for any purpose other than that for which it is intended.
Fall protection equipment should never be used for towing or hoisting.
Do not use product around moving machinery or near sharp edges and abrasive surfaces.
Provide a safe distance from the ground and the power lines or areas with an electrical hazard.
Do not use in an "aggressive" work environment: marine atmosphere, chemicals, extreme temperatures, sharp edges...
Never remove product labels, which include important warnings and information for the user.
This equipment must be inspected prior to each use by the user and at least once a year by the manufacturer or by an authorized
person. The inspection should be recorded on the enclosed annual record card.
To minimize the risk of accidental disengagement, a competent person must ensure system compatibility.
It is recommended to assign each user a harness. This PPE can only be used by one person at a time. The fall arrest system will be
attached to an anchorage point above the user. The fall arrest system shall be attached to a sternal or dorsal attachment point of the
harness. During operation, regularly check the closing and adjustment and/ or fastening elements. For safety reasons and before each
use, check: that the connectors (Z359.12 / Z259.12) are closed and locked; that the operating instructions described for each component
of the system are met/ that the general disposition of the work situation reduces the fall risk, the drop height and the pendulum movement
in the case of a fall/ the vertical clearance is sufficient (free space beneath the feet of the user) and no obstacles disrupt the normal
functioning of the fall arrest system. (see 2.1)
INTENDED USE AND PURPOSE:
This product is inseparable from a comprehensive fall protection system (Z359.1 / Z259.17), whose function is to minimize the risk of
body injury from falls. Full body harness have to be used as a component of a complete Personal Fall Protection System, which is
designed to safely prevent a fall or safety arrest a fall. Before any use, refer to the recommendations for use for each component of the
system.
2.0 System compatibility
The fall arrest system is composed by: An anchorage point (Z359.18 / Z259.15), A linking system (Z359.13 / Z259.11, Z359.14 /
Z259.2.2, Z359.15, Z359.16 / Z259.4 & Z259.5), A body supporting device (Z359.11 / Z259.10). All the system components are
connected together with connectors (Z359.12 / Z259.12). The full body harness (Z359.11 / Z259.10) is the only body grip to be allowed
for use with a fall arrest system. It must be connected to the fall arrest system by connectors (Z359.12 / Z259.12). The harness must
be connected to the fall protection system through the dorsal or sternal attachment point. Every combination of different equipment
can cause unexpected dangerous situation that have a negative influence on safety of the user.
Delta Plus equipment is designed for use with Delta Plus approved components and subsystems only. Substitutions or replacements
made with non-approved components or subsystems may jeopardize compatibility of equipment and may effect the safety and reliability
of the complete system.
Use only connectors that are suitable to each application and are compatible with connecting elements.
- Connectors must be compatible with the anchorage other system components.
- Connectors must be compatible in size, shape, and strength.
- Non-compatible connectors may unintentionally disengage.
Connectors are considered to be compatible with connecting elements when they have been designed to work together in such a way
that their sizes and shapes do not cause their gate mechanisms to inadvertently open regardless of how they become oriented. Contact
