Delta Plus if you have any questions about compatibility. Self-locking snap hooks and carabiners are required by ANSI Z359.12, OSHA
and CSA Z259.12. Connectors (hooks, carabiners, and D-Rings) must be capable of supporting at least 5000 lbs (22.2 kN).
Parking lanyard attachments is intended for hang the free end of a lanyard, a energy absorbing lanyard, or a self-retracting device when
is not connected to an anchorage point for fall protection application. Parking lanyard attachment shall never be used as a fall protection
attachment element.
2.1 Limitations
CAPACITY:
This PPE can only be used by one person at a time.
According to ANSI Z359.11 standard: The Full Body Harness has been tested for use by persons with a combined weight (clothing,
tools) ranging from 130 lbs (59 kg) to 310 lbs (140 kg).
According to CSA Z259.10 standard: The Full Body Harness has been tested for use by persons with a combined weight (clothing,
tools) up to 352 lbs (160 kg).
CLEARANCE:
A complete Personal Fall Arrest System is an assembly of components and subsystems used to arrest a person in a free fall.
A complete Personal Fall Arrest System is composed by:
- An anchorage point,
- A linking system, Energy absorbing system
- A body supporting device, Full Body Harness
All the system components are connected together with connectors.
The calculation of the Required Fall Clearance Distance (RD) includes espacialy but without restriction:
- The free vertical length of the linking system (LL).
- The deployment distance of the complete fall arrest system (DD). The deployment distance have to
include the deflection of anchorage point and anchorage connectors, the performance of the energy
absorbing system, and the stretch elongation of the full body harness.
- The height of the worker (HH).
- A safety factor (C). This factor is an additional safety distance of 1m.
According to ANSI Z359.11 standard tests: The stretch elongation of the full body harness (Hs). (See reference table)
According to CSA Z259.10 standard tests: The stretch elongation of the full body harness (X
). (See reference table)
H
Check that there is enough height below the user according to the equipment used.
WARNING !
If there is a lateral offset between the line from the anchorage point to the operator and the line or direction of potential fall, in the event
of a fall the operator may swing laterally.
EXTENDED SUSPENSION:
A Full Body Harness is not intended for use in extended suspension applications. If the user is going to be suspended for an extended
length of time it is recommended that some from of seat support be used.
2.2 Component Warnings:
See reference table and ANSI Z359.11-2014 – ANNEX A - Sections 11-17
