enerAl notes on sAfety
This technical document is applicable for the machine
ABG 9-R. The machine may only be handled by person-
nel who are qualified.
Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when
performing an operation where the cutting tool may con-
tact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a «live»
wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool «live» and
shock the operator.
WARNING Read all safety warnings and all in-
structions. Failure to follow the warnings and in-
structions may result in electric shock, fire and/or
serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future refer-
ence.

se of the mAchine for PurPoses for
which it is intended
The machine is designed for grinding and polishing of
metal, plastic or wood with abrasive belts, non-woven
belts, high-performance ceramic belts or reinforced
nonwoven belts, without using water. The machine is de-
signed exclusively for a 2-hand application.
This machine is to be operated exclusively with CAS
(Cordless Alliance System) battery packs.

1.2 are regarded as incorrect use and are there-
fore not admissible.

2.1 P
rior to tAKing the mAchine into serVice
The battery pack is delivered in a
partially charged state. The battery
pack can deliver its full power out-
put when it is first fully charged in the sup-
plied charging unit before it is used for the first time. In-

structions on charging the battery pack can be found in
the operating instructions of the SUHNER charger LG
CAS:
Check that the battery pack is clean and undamaged. Do
not use damaged battery packs. Check the grinding belt
before use. The driver roller must be installed centrally
and aligned to the stop. Under no circumstances must
the grinding belt exceed the max permitted speed.
Observe national regulations.
Take protective measures when dust can develop dur-
ing working that is harmful to one's health, cumbustible
or explosive. Wear a dust mask and work with dust/chip
extraction when connectable.

Hold the machine when removing and
inserting the battery pack so that the on/off switch
cannot be unintentionally pressed.
Insert: Insert the battery pack until it engages audibly.
Remove: Press the battery pack release button (1) and
remove the battery pack.

Select a speed from the table and set this for the grinding
tool at the setting wheel.
Level 1: 4.8m/s
Level 2: 6.5m/s
Level 3: 8.2m/s
During operation never exceed the speed which
has been matched to the grinding tool specifica-
tions!
Level 4: 9.8m/s
Level 5: 11.5m/s
Level 6: 13.2m/s
