To turn the meat you should completely remove the cooking grid and place it on a
fireproof surface. Turn the meat over and put it back into the BBQ. Use a grill tong
instead of sharp utensils to avoid the meat juice from flowing out.
Cancel grilling
To stop the grilling function, push the temperature dial once.
Note: Do not cook the food in the uppermost rack guide for more than 1 minute at a
time! Searing food on this layer will cause unnecessary smoke emission.
Resting the cooked meat
The strong radiant heat at a high temperature setting between 1200 °F and 1500 °F
ensures rapid browning or crusting. In most cases, it is recommended that after grilling
at high temperatures, you remove the meat and let it rest. This can be done at reduced
temperature in the lower guide slots or even directly in the drip tray in the lower room
of the grill attachment (resting area). For this, you can remove the drip tray with the
guide handle (Caution: This can be hot and should be placed on a fireproof base).
Oil drip tray
During the grilling of meat products, liquid is normally released from the food. This must
not enter the interior of the housing. Operate therefore only with the grease drip tray
inserted and with water inside the drip tray. By default, the drip tray should be inserted
on the bottom slot during the grilling process. It can get hot and, just like the grill,
should only be operated with the guide handle.
Although the dripping grease drains off quickly into the grease trap, a thin film of grease
may adhere to the surface of the drip tray. Due to the strong infrared radiation, it can
burn into the surface. From a practical point of view, it is recommended to remove the
drip tray briefly between rounds of grilling and drain with water or wipe with a damp
cloth.
The preparation of a steak is divided into the following steps:
1.
Add water to the oil drip tray and pre-heat the grill.
2.
Position and insert the meat.
3.
Grill one side of the meat for 1-4 minutes, depending on the meat and distance
(See table).
4.
Turn over and grill the other side for 1-4 minutes, depending on the type of meat
and distance (See table).
5.
Let the meat rest.
6.
Enjoy!
Turn off and allow to cool down
After using the grill, the cooling fans remain in operation for some time until the heater
has dropped below a temperature of 140 °F. Do not pull the plug and do not turn off the
grill at the main switch on the back of the device as the grill may overheat.
