SETTING THE SAWHEAD TILT STOP (Fig. 30)
In order to position the sawhead exactly vertically or at 45° for bevel cuts, the sawhead tilt stop needs to be set:
1. Swing the sawhead down and lock it with the locking pin.
2. Loosen the bevel tilt star-knob at the rear of the saw.
3. Set the saw blade to exactly 90° against the turntable, using a mitre square.
4. If necessary, loosen the lock nut on the 90° stop screw (56) and set stop screw so that the sawhead makes contact with
it at a 90° angle. Retighten the lock nut.
5. Repeat step three and four for the 45° stop screw (57) using a 45° mitre square.
24.
KERF PLATE REPLACEMENT (Fig. 31)
The kerf plate (58) must be replaced if the slot is damaged.
1. Unscrew the kerf plate screws.
2. Remove the damaged kerf plate from the saw table (put a screw driver into the slot and lever the kerf plate out of the table).
3. Insert the new kerf plate and screw it down.

CHECKING AND REPLACING THE CARBON BRUSHES (Fig. 32)
Worn carbon brushes are noticeable by:
- irregular running of the motor;
- static in radio/TV while the motor is running;
- stopping of the motor.
To check or replace the carbon brushes
1. Unplug the power cable.
2. Unscrew the brush (59) plug (60) from the motor frame with a suitable screw driver.
The illustration shows the replacement of the front carbon brush. The rear carbon brush is located on the opposite side.
3. Pull the carbon brushes out and check them. Each carbon brush must be at least 6 mm long.
4. Put intact brushes into the brush holder. The two lugs on the sides of the small metal plate must fit into the grooves of
the brush holder.
5. Put the brush plugs back in.
6. Check the functioning of the saw.
