piece that is being cut must be properly
supported to minimise the risk of any
part of your body coming into contact
with it, getting the chain stuck or losing
the control over the tool.
- If there is a risk of the chain coming
into contact with the electrical cord
under the surface or with the cord of
the saw, hold the tool by the handles
made of insulation material. Contact
with a live wire may cause the metal parts
of the tool to become charged as well,
causing electrical injury to the user.
- When cutting lengthwise, use the
guide bar, guide ruler or parallel
stop. This improves the accuracy of the
cut, and reduces the risk of getting stuck
in it.
- Always use the guide bar, the chain
and the chain sprocket recommend-
ed by the manufacturer. The bar must
be properly secured.
- Check to make sure the original chain
sprocket cover is intact. The original
cover of the chain sprocket must not be
used if damaged or incomplete, and must
not be replaced with any other compo-
nent, e.g., a nut. The clamping system
must be designed with special consid-
eration of your saw, taking into account
optimal operation and work safety.
- Before placing the sword saw on a work-
bench or on the fl oor, always make sure
the chain is not moving, and the saw is
leaning on the guard plate. When run-
ning down, an unprotected chain causes
reverse motion of the saw and cuts eve-
rything in its path. Be aware of the time
the chain needs to stop after the switch
is released. The saw should be put away
on a level surface on the guide runner.
- The guard plate is an integral part of
the machine; it must not be modifi ed,
shortened or dismantled. Make sure it is
aligned with the guide bar, and that the
chain is tightened properly and does not
touch the guard plate. The minimum dis-
tance of the chain from the guard plate
is 5 mm, if the chain is already over-
stretched, it must be replaced with a new
one.

- For the guard plate to work, it must be
positioned in the cut groove. The guard
plate is prone to kickback on short cuts.
- Do not work with the saw if the guard
plate is bent.
- The guard plate must not be removed
or modifi ed.
- Proper chain tension is important. Check
the chain tension before you start working
and then continuously during the work.
The cut movement must be selected so
as to avoid chain stoppage.
- Never use chains whose cutting teeth an-
gles are designed solely for stationary
machines.
- Do not forcibly change the selected cut
direction while cutting.
- Safety covers and devices must not be
removed, and their proper operation
must not be disabled.
- Before you start working, check the lu-
brication oil level and make sure the lu-
brication works.
- Do not cut pieces that are too big or too
small for the tool.
- Absolutely never plunge the operating
machine into fully enclosed surfaces. This
poses a risk of kickback injury!
- When operating the tool in enclosed ar-
eas, it is necessary to provide suffi cient
ventilation or exhaust. Avoid cutting haz-
ardous materials, such as asbestos.
- Remove all foreign particles from the ma-
terial to be cut, especially metal, which
will damage the tool and may lead to
injury.
- Use caution when discarding sawdust! If
the sawdust removal port is plugged, you
must turn off the machine and unplug
it. Only when the chain stops can the
chain sprocket cover be removed and the
plugged port cleaned. Never touch the
sawdust removal port until the machine
is at a total standstill.
- Turn the machine on only when it is
placed on the piece to be cut. Do not
start cutting before the machine reaches
full RPM.
- Do not remove the machine from the cut
piece before the chain has completely
stopped.
